  • Job Qualifications: Associates degree in Information Technology or equivalent and periodic training to assure currency of technical skills. Industry or district recognized technical and/or customer support certifications as may be deemed necessary by the Technology Department. BS in Computer Science or Information Systems, instructional use of technology, or related area .

General Responsibilities:

The Technology Manager II will work directly with the instructional leaders for Lake Ridge Schools to provide support for digital curriculum and instructional technologies. This position will work managing the districts software programs that are used in the classroom for educational support, act as test coordinator for standardized testing which will include setting up the testing and managing the rosters for that testing window, training and support for the staff for testing, software programming, Google Suites, learning management system (Buzz), student management system (PowerSchool), and various instructional platforms. This position directly supports the integration and embedding of digital curriculum and instruction and will include technical support of instructional technologies, student learning programs, and student management programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

This position includes but is not limited to:

  • Advanced SQL, scripting, HTML, database design, data customizations, and reporting skills.

  • Ability to reconcile and analyze large datasets. Advanced Excel expertise. Attention to detail.

  • Set up, program, and customize the integration of curriculum software programs with learning and student management systems, software/apps management, and instructional technology for teachers and student use (such as NWEA, Study Island, IXL, Khan Academy, Edmentum, Vocab.Com, Brain Pop)

  • Facilitate data and reporting management needs associated with digital curriculum & assessment tools, Data Exchange, and applications (such as Clever SOS, TIDE, CollegeBoard, PowerSchool)

  • Test and recommend practices, processes and tools for ensuring the security and privacy of our staff and student data associated with curriculum

  • Technology Integration

  • Support the deployment, professional development, integration and maintenance of digital curriculum, instructional technology tools, and student information management technologies into schools
  • Training and support of instructional technologies - work with staff, as needed, and provide training in the operation and use of systems, computers, and peripheral equipment to school personnel and students. Provide support and training, as needed, for community and parent events

  • Support and Service Requests

  • Coordinate, troubleshoot and resolve service and support requests of individuals and/or sites, for the purpose of ensuring availability and effective use of computer technology for instruction
  • Support Procurement
  • Following technology equipment standards set by the Technology Department, generate recommendations for new hardware and software acquisitions.
  • Manage Google Suite including security, gmail, drives, accounts, creation of classrooms/groups, communication and so on in combination with the Technology Manager I

  • Experience and knowledge with device management software and Chromebooks

  • Facilitate the coordination of required standardized state testing including rostering, uploading information, test windows, implementation, and ensuring the data department receives test scores to upload into the student information system.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and Business Manager.

Terms of Employment:

12-month contract. Salary to be determined by the Board of School Trustees as per contract and shall be effective August 1st of each calendar year.

Evaluation:

Performance of job requirements will be evaluated annually by the Chief Financial Officer/Business Manager in accordance with Board Policy.
