MAVERICK Technologies is looking to hire a Technology Leader. You will provide technical and leadership support in the application of engineering services, mainly focused on 800xA platform. Involved in the development of growth strategies, training programs, hiring strategies, and efficiency tools. Provide guidance and direction to project teams on technical issues, ensure standards and reuse are being utilized, provide technical quality reviews and corrective action items in order to ensure quality on projects for that platform. Maintain and improve relationships with the OEM. Technology Leaders are partially billable and expected to help lead projects, support consulting efforts, and find additional billability opportunities to meet their goals.

Must Have's:

  • Technical expertise on the ABB 800xA platform. Considered an expert-level resource.

  • Ability to find ways to meet billable targets by working with Operations and Project Managers.

  • Ability to support sales and estimating efforts, including challenging customers with new ideas and techniques.

  • Ability to support training and mentoring within that platform.

  • Support standards development and implementation, reuse, and enforce them across the organization.

  • Provide technical quality control support for all 800xA projects in the organization.

  • Knowledge and ability to support in-house development systems.

  • Relationships and strategic thinking to continually improve our relationship with Siemens.

Qualifications/Criteria:

  • BS in Engineering (EE, ME, ChE) or other technical degree or equivalent experience

  • 9+ years experience in an engineering environment.

  • Expert in the ABB technology platform.

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Assist Operational Managers in assessing overall strengths and weaknesses for a specific technology platform or discipline area and develop plans to address gaps needed to meet planned resource demands.

  • Assist Industry Business Leaders with development of business plans where needed.

  • Provide technical assistance to Business Development Managers during customer pursuits.

  • Assist PEG in the estimate cost of equipment and services for project work-scopes around their technological expertise. Ensure compliance to and assist in development of customer technical specifications for proposal work scopes.

  • Maintain a high level of technical competency in current technologies, product offering, and their application.

  • Attend OEM conferences as approved.

  • Support TAG for evaluation of new hires.

  • Lead the development of case studies and white papers for a specific discipline or technology platform.

  • Develop and maintain training programs for their specific technology platform or discipline.

  • Provide training on their specific technology platform or discipline to employees.

  • Support the development of other engineers; Implement and ensure continuous improvement processes.

  • Participate in project kick off meetings to assist with setting technical direction.

  • Technical architect for significant project efforts.

  • Review project deliverables for completeness, adherence to quality standards and meeting functional requirements.

  • Evaluates and selects standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria around a specific technology platform.

  • Provide feedback on the performance of project teams on the use of tools and strategies related to the specific technological platform or discipline.

  • May direct other engineering resources at times for specific projects.

  • Work with lead engineers and project managers to plan engineering and technical approaches to assignments; Analyze and interpret results of assigned projects.

  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, and distributing client and MAVERICK's standards and procedures for specific technology platform or discipline.

VIEW JOBS 11/16/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-14T00:00 Agency Description: The Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) currently manages the delivery of IT infrastructure services to 85 Executive Branch agencies and managed network services to 1,300 state and local government entities. IT infrastructure services encompass mainframes, servers, service desk, end user computing, disaster recovery and security; 14 agencies receive all of these services through GTA, while the remaining agencies may receive two or three of these services. Managed network services include the state's wide and local area networks, voice, cable and wiring, and conferencing services. Both categories of services are provided as shared services through a public-private partnership called the Georgia Enterprise Technology Services (GETS) program. A Multisourcing Service Integrator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the delivery of services by multiple providers. GTA's Sourcing Management Organization is responsible for service provider oversight and management while our Sourcing Governance Organization is responsible for governance. Meanwhile, GTA's Enterprise Governance and Planning promotes an enterprise approach to technology by establishing statewide policies, standards and guidelines based on industry best practices and federal requirements. EGAP works closely with the Governor's Office of Planning and Budget and state agencies to ensure an individual agency's IT strategy aligns with its overall business strategy and business continuity planning. EGAP is involved in managing the state's portfolio of technology projects to ensure they meet established goals and are completed on schedule and within budget. Information security is a critically important concern at GTA, and the Office of Information Security gives particular attention to supporting the development of training for state employees, so they understand their role in protecting sensitive information. In compliance with statutory requirements, GTA gathers data from state agencies on an annual basis regarding their IT security programs and IT expenditures. The data are compiled into reports that are useful in guiding state leaders in their decision making. GTA manages the state's official online portal, www.georgia.gov, and enterprise web-publishing platform. The portal provides information and services from more than 115 state agencies and links to city and county government websites. The enterprise platform supports 78 state agency websites. Both the portal and the enterprise platform are carefully designed to ensure friendly navigation, accessibility for users with disabilities, and robust search capabilities. GTA's vision - A transparent, integrated enterprise where technology decisions are made with the citizen in mind GTA's mission - To provide technology leadership to the state of Georgia for sound IT enterprise management GTA is currently seeking a Program Management Consultant 1 in the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO). Job Summary & Responsibilities: JOB SUMMARY: The Program Manager is responsible for providing program & project management, consultation, assessment and oversight functions for large-scale IT projects, as well as managing the State of Georgia's Enterprise IT portfolio. The GTA Enterprise Portfolio Management Office helps to ensure that consistent project management principles and practices are followed across those projects and provides professional development for the state's project managers. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Serve as a business partner and liaison with agency senior leadership, third party vendors, and agency CIOs and/or Business Owners. * Participate and / or lead engagements to conduct formal and informal project reviews at predetermined points throughout the project life cycle. * Participate and / or lead consulting engagements with agencies. * Participate and / or lead Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) teams for smaller IT projects. * Develop and present reports to executive leadership. * Make recommendations to GTA and agency management about project activities, course corrections, process improvements and best practices. * Review and make recommendations on project deliverables such as the Project Management Plan, Project Schedule, Design Documents, Data Conversion Plans, Testing Plans, Training Plans, Implementation Strategies & Rollout Plans, and Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Plans. * Review and prepare formal responses to agencies for Business Cases and Procurement documents to ensure completeness and adherence to standards. * Evaluate the feasibility of an integrated project schedule. * Participate in the development of project management policies, standards and guidelines. * Develop and deliver project management training. * Make recommendations for improvement of processes based on observations, industry standards and best practices. * Interacts with cross-functional teams including architects, software engineers, developers, testers. * Performs other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications: (Preference will be given to candidates who, demonstrate some or all the following skills/experience): * Master's degree or beyond in Business Administration, IT, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field from an accredited college or university. * Proficiency in at least two of the following areas with a minimum of 3 years of experience in each area: IT Audit, Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V), PMO Lead, Project quality assurance. * Experience working with the State of Georgia or another state. * Experience with vendor management. * Experience working with Portfolio / Project Management application. * Private sector consulting experience. * Organizational Change Management experience.
