Technology Internship

The Aspen School District is now accepting applications for the position of Technology Intern.

Position Title: Technology Internship (Part-Time, Tuesday - Fridays)

Department: Technology Department

Reports to: Technology Director

Classification: Classified Hourly

Contract Period: June 7 to August 16, 2024

Compensation: $20/hour

Position Summary

The Aspen School District summer technology internship position supports the technology department. This program provides interns with hands-on experience in supporting and managing technology infrastructure within an educational setting.

Position Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of computer hardware, software, and peripherals.

• Support end-users in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to computers, laptops, printers, and other technology devices.

• Collaborate with the Technology Department in managing and maintaining the district's network infrastructure.

• Aid in the deployment and maintenance of educational software applications and systems used by students and teachers.

• Assist in the setup and support of audio-visual equipment in classrooms and other instructional spaces.

• Contribute to technology inventory management by tracking, organizing, and documenting hardware and software assets.

• Assist in desktop and laptop imaging

• Power Washing chromebooks and updating them

• Assisting in district wide technology projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a computer science, information technology, or related program at an accredited university or recently graduated.

• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows and/or macOS), and software applications.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with students, teachers, and staff in a professional manner.

• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols is a plus.

• A passion for technology and an interest in exploring its applications in an educational context.

Work Environment

• Office environment; exposure to computer screens

• Primary functions may require maintaining the physical condition necessary for sitting for prolonged periods of time; use of a computer keyboard; lifting etc.

Essential Physical Requirements

• Physical: Reaching, walking, standing, sitting, typing, talking, crouching, kneeling, seeing, and hearing. Lifting up to 50lbs.
