Position Overview

As a Technology Engineer Sr within PNC's Virtualization Engineering team you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Cleveland, OH, Birmingham, AL, Phoenix, AZ, or Dallas, TX. The position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office on a regular basis.

Extensive experience in VMware, Cisco UCS and Pure preferred

• Proven experience in infrastructure management and deployment within a large enterprise or financial institution environment.

• In-depth knowledge of virtualization technologies, specifically VMware vSphere and related tools.

• Experience with storage area networks (SAN), storage management principles, zoning, and data security best practices.

• Experience with infrastructure automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).

• Working understanding of network protocols and concepts including TCP/IP, firewalls, routing, and VLANs

• Strong understanding of IT security principles and compliance frameworks relevant to the financial services industry (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA).

• Experience with IT service management (ITSM) and change control methodologies like ITIL.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Strong adherence to established change control procedures for infrastructure modifications, including documentation, approvals, and implementation.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

Job Description

• Leads in the development of the most complex new and emerging technologies and selects appropriate platforms, integrates and configures solutions. Leverages technical knowledge and industry experience to design, build and maintain technology solutions.

• Develops software components and hardware for new and emerging technology projects; aligns these with business strategies and objectives.

• Consults junior staff regarding complex issues and best practices.

• Provides a systematic analysis on the most complex client requirements within the traceability framework and resolves any functional problems encountered.

• Oversees the quality of complex project deliverables while ensuring that they are in compliance with relevant standards and processes.
