As Technology Engineer within PNC's SRC organization, you will be based in Remote location of position.

Job Description

  • Leverages technical knowledge and industry experience to design, build and maintain technology solutions. Assists with selecting appropriate platforms, integrates and configures solutions.

  • Develops software components and hardware for new and emerging technology projects; aligns these with business strategies and objectives.

  • May provide consultation on common issues and best practices for junior staff.

  • Provides a systematic analysis on client requirements within the traceability framework and resolves any functional problems encountered.

  • Ensures quality of project deliverables while maintaining compliance with relevant standards and processes.

VIEW JOBS 11/29/2021 12:00:00 AM 2022-02-27T00:00 The Technology for Effective and Efficient Learning (TEEL) Lab at Carnegie Mellon University develops a portable and interoperable online learning ecosystem that enables effective and efficient learning that demonstrates social interactions between students as a substantial learning resource. Furthermore, in addition to large scale software development, the lab conducts studies of student learning and evaluates innovative ways for incorporating social learning as a driver for developing cognitive skills and motivation through reflection, interaction, and cohort building. We are searching for a Full Stack Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing vital support by being involved with learning projects that range from backend systems that are responsible for grading the learners and evaluating the remote learners' presentations to learner facing UIs, including clients that are able to interact with video conferencing platforms. This involves developing, deploying and monitoring learning microservices in a Kubernetes based infrastructure as well as developing microservices that utilize cloud service provider AI engines. Senior full stack engineers in the TEEL Lab are encouraged to be heavily involved with the architectural design of the learning systems with an emphasis on portability and interoperability. Core responsibilities include: * Developing and maintaining the learning infrastructure (LMS, social interaction) and designing features that enable learning research. * Developing project-based Online Social Learning platform for workforce training at scale * Owning the effort of developing, incorporating and maintaining the software development, deployment, and monitoring process of the online social learning platform. * Interacting via REST APIs and LTI integrations to support robust learning systems for a broad audience * Designing systems that are extensible in their ability to support a variety of LMSs. LMS related features will include managing users and their accesses and roles across learning tools, enabling research by describing and collecting learning activity logs (to be persisted in a data lake, HDFS, MySQL, parquet, etc.) * Ensuring alignment to learning tool standards and building tools that interoperate with multiple LMSs * Collaborating with the UI engineer to help develop UIs for the LTI tools that integrate with an LMS. These range from dashboards to render learning analytics, sites where students will receive grades and submission feedback, and any other UIs in support of staff and learner interactions. Technologies used for development include Django (Frontend+Backend), Spring Boot (Backend) and React (Frontend) * Assist in the development of a virtual agent that is able to assess presentations by evaluation the its constituent components including speech, language, visual design, and body language by interacting with cloud service providers APIs (Python) * Lead the development of the a virtual agent that is able to extract information from a video conference including summaries, sentiments, and key talking points by using existing frameworks * Lead the development of a virtual agent/chat bot that is able to answer queries based on an established knowledge-base * Performs related duties as assigned.
