Technology Drawing Education Teacher 2024-2025

ELEVEN MONTH (220 DAYS), INCLUDING IN PART PAID STATE RETIREMENT & STATE MANDATED LIFE INSURANCE & IN PART FOR HEALTH INSURANCE.

General Definition of Work:

Position is responsible for creating a classroom environment that develops in each student an awareness of the role of technology education. Under direction of the school principal, plan and provide for appropriate learning experiences for students. Provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of individuals to ensure success for every student. Supervise students in a variety of school related settings. Monitor and evaluate student outcomes. Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff and community. Develop, select and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students. Maintain appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices. Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, materials and facilities.

Essential Functions:

• Plan a program of study that meets the needs, interests and abilities of students.

• On a regular and consistent basis, meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.

• Create a classroom environment that provides for student involvement in the learning process and enable each student to achieve learning objectives.

• Prepare for classes assigned and develops lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible with the division's basic instructional philosophy to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student and can show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior.

• Take all necessary safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities and instructs students in the proper use, care and safe handling of equipment.

• Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law, CCPS policy and administrative regulation.

• Teaches skills, knowledge, and scientific attitudes through courses in technology education to students, utilizing curriculum designated by the division.

• Plans a technology education program involving demonstrations, lectures, discussions, and student experiments; organizes activities for optimal learning.

• Provides for safe storage and proper use of materials, equipment and tools.

• Evaluates each student's growth in knowledge and skills in the course being taught.

• Communicates with parents and school counselors on student progress.

• Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.

• Make provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.

Education/Qualifications:

Must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in education or a related field. Must be eligible or possess Virginia License with the endorsement to teach Technology Education. Must possess ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the public.
