The Department of Academic Technology Support is accepting applications for a Technology Development Coordinator to work with the ETSU College of Nursing.

This position provides technical support to the ETSU College of Nursing faculty, staff, and students. Key responsibilities involve researching solutions to meet technology needs, offering one-on-one hardware/software help, supporting instructional technologies, collaborating on clinical/student systems, evaluating new tech for education, developing documentation, and coordinating support across IT departments. The overall role is to ensure comprehensive tech resources and services for the nursing community in accordance with university goals.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of computer software applications.

  • Knowledge of trends and best practices in technology strategies for higher education.

  • Knowledge of multimedia applications.

  • Knowledge of learning management systems.

  • Knowledge of support for both Windows and Apple operating systems, computer hardware, and software applications.

  • Knowledge of word processing and desktop publishing systems.

  • Ability to develop instructional materials, reports, professional correspondence, procedure manuals, and policies.

  • Ability to make judicious decisions with respect to technology implementation and support.

  • Ability to provide initiative and originality for problem-solving and leadership.

  • Ability to develop accurate documentation of end user support methods and procedures.

  • Ability to produce reports and summaries for management to include status reports, problem reports, progress summaries, and system utilization reports.

  • Ability to prepare and conduct technology training presentations to diverse audiences.

  • Ability to ask targeted questions to gather information and diagnose problems efficiently.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and respond to issues from a variety of end users.

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize work requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree;

  • One year experience with technology, technology training/education, or education support;

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products;

  • Experience with web conferencing tools;

  • Evidence of strong customer and/or student support.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with learning management systems such as Brightspace by D2L, Blackboard, or Canvas;

  • Experience with educational platforms for documentation and clinical management;

  • Experience working with healthcare educators;

  • Professional experience in an academic setting (experience as a part-time employee or graduate assistant may be considered).

Salary $43,575 - $53,055
