Technology Consultant at Vertica
Be part of the Vertica team at Microfocus helping provide world-class services and technology consulting to external customers and internal project teams. You would be responsible for sharing technical knowledge and leadership in the delivery of Vertica solutions designed to meet customers' business needs and, consequently, for understanding customers' business requirements. As a trusted advisor you would create and maintain effective customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction. Maintain knowledge of leading-edge technologies and industry/market domain knowledge.
The Vertica Professional Services team actively contributes to the company's solutions portfolio by providing information ranging from technical knowledge to methodologies based on experience gained from customer projects. The team shapes the technical direction and technical strategies within the organization and for external customers
Education and Experience Required:
Knowledge and Skills:
Senior level knowledge of data architectures, design patterns, and technologies
Senior-level client/customer-facing skills.
Senior level hardware and operating system knowledge and skills.
Functional knowledge or/and experience with Python
Functional knowledge and/or experience with Machine Learning algorithms and evaluation
Experience implementing solutions on Amazon Web Services, Azure, or Google Compute public clouds.
Responsible for the system, logical, and physical architecture of client Vertica solutions.
Installation, configuration, and tuning of Vertica DB and related Microfocus products.
Evaluation of the health of Vertica installations as well as the impact of the operating system, storage, and network configurations and setting on Vertica performance.
Responsible for implementing part or all the technical solution to the client, in accordance with an agreed technical design.
Database Administration for Vertica DB in customer environments.
Often leads small to medium technical projects.
Works with and under the direction of the Project/Technical Manager and with customer nominated representatives.
Liaises with Vertica Support, Field, and Engineering teams as appropriate.
Provides technical support and input on the application of technology to a defined business segment.
