Job Description:

Within the Global Business Unit (GBU) High Voltage Products, we are looking for a Technology Center (TC) Site Manager to run our TC site in Italy, based in Lodi. In this role, you will manage a talented and highly qualified team, focused on the development and continuous improvement of products such as Metal-Enclosed Circuit Breakers, Hybrid Switchgear, and Instrument Transformers.

Reporting to the TC Manager North America and Southern Europe, you will support the creation and sustainment of a technical organization that can deliver a steady stream of innovative and competitive products which will provide the future revenue and profit stream of the business. Your responsibilities

• Supervise the TC site activities (including R&D projects and GPS), ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget and within scope. Secure the required resources, competences, and tools for the execution, ensuring compliance with all the applicable technical standards and instructions.

• Manage contract and employment aspects of the TC site with HR support. Guide, motivate and develop direct and indirect reports with the support of HR processes. Develop culture of quality and openness.

• Ensure that adequate office, IS and laboratory infrastructure are available and properly assigned through the TC site organization. Identify actions and related investments to manage and continuously improve TC site assets, including laboratory equipment.

• Take full accountability of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) aspects within the TC site organization, including - but not limited to - roles & responsibilities, governance, PPE & tools, trainings, and certificates. Promote and support HSE culture, ensuring safety is the license to operate.

• Promote Hitachi Energy R&D internally and externally to foster cooperation and knowledge sharing with other resources and communities. Build, develop and maintain relationships with internal and external (customers, universities, HER etc.) contacts. Oversee appropriate participation in relevant international technical committees. Act as local technology expert for special tasks in the wider organization.

• As responsible of the local TC cost center, coordinate the TC accounting process, ensuring that the TC spending meets the available CHTEC budgets and that the required monthly cost reports and forecasts are properly and timely issued.

• Ensure action is taken to manage risks. Supports appropriate protection of newly created Intellectual Property (IP) and assist in defense and enforcement activities of related technology. Support monitoring and alerting IP issues to higher level management.

Your background

• Master or Doctor's degree in engineering or related field.

• 3+ years of management experience in areas like technology, engineering, or research.

• Proven business acumen and global mindset. Track record in working in multi-national organizations.

• Sound knowledge of R&D activities and project management.

• Good influencing and coaching skills.

• Good verbal and communications skills and ability to interact professionally with diverse groups.

Proficient in written and spoken English. Italian is a strong plus.
