About the team

As a Technology Business Consultant within the Post Trade Services Professional Services Team, you will be responsible for providing software consultancy service to our clients to implement our next generation Trade Capture and Back Office processing platform, FIS CD.

This is an exciting and challenging role, giving the right candidate the opportunity to forge strong working relationships with our clients, as well as internal visibility with FIS leadership. Suitable candidates are therefore likely to have extensive industry experience and be capable of working with the client's business and technical teams to provide onsite/remote consultancy to deliver successful implementations of our new FIS CD solution.

What you will be doing

The candidate must demonstrate the ability to learn all modules of the FIS CD solution, to gather client's functional and technical requirements and advise how FIS CD can best be delivered to meet the required requirements. You will need to display a thorough understanding of the FIS CD product, underlying technologies and have experience/knowledge of Post Trade processes.

In addition to supporting the day to day aspects of the project delivery, you will be able to communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders. The Technology Business Consultant will be working in a fast-paced environment with the wider FIS team and will be expected to challenge working practices and bring new ideas for consideration.

  • To gain an in-depth understanding of the post-trade business Middle/Back Office and to become an expert in FIS' post trade processing suite of products in order to provide the expertise required to execute our projects.

  • To analyse business problems, identifying and documenting system requirements and refining the customer requirements in detail, produce estimates, documenting and presenting to the client for approval.

  • To implement and configure technical solutions to a high-level of quality, to meet business requirements and to integrate our solutions into our clients' wider systems.

  • To work collaboratively in a team of implementation consultants to meet project goals and timelines, and to progress ultimately to lead, implementation teams ranging from 2 - 5 consultants.

  • To work closely with the project manager to promptly identify any potential issues to allow a pro-active solution to be offered.

What you bring:

  • Experience within Consulting and/or working on software application implementations preferably in financial industry with sound understanding of a typical project lifecycle

  • Good understanding of Post Trade Services Processes (middle/back office operations)

  • Work successfully as a team member and take full ownership of assigned tasks

  • Results oriented with a high sense of urgency to meet client requirements

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Excellent organizational project and time management skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills

  • Strong Linux, Java knowledge

  • Database: MySql Oracle, Couchbase

Added bonus if you have:

  • Experience within the Financial Technology or Consulting domain

  • Cloud deployment experience i.e. Docker Swarm

  • Basic networking experience

  • Scripting: Bash (predominantly), Powershell, Python

  • Strong Excel skills
