Position Purpose
Under occasional supervision, the Technology Applications Owner oversees IT development for all programs/initiatives within the CRM product, ensuring that IT solutions are delivered accurately and efficiently across a wider scope of influence and responsibility.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Provides input into business strategy related to technology initiatives.
Perform gap analysis between current state and the future state.
Identifies single points of failure, capabilities, capacity, fault tolerance, hours of operation (SLA), and change windows.
Maintains overall accountability for systems including maintenance, upgrades, and ensuring optimum system integrity, availability, reliability, and performance.
Identifies inadequate or inefficient systems and suggests alternatives to reduce cost or increase efficiency to enable the company to reach its goals.
Provides capacity trending and forecasting to aid management in making budgetary decisions.
Defines and conveys the vision to the team in order to address business requirements to ensure a successful product based on business value.
Responsible for engaging with business unit stakeholders to assess and prioritize program needs.
Responsible for communicating the prioritized needs of business units to the Scrum Team as a part of Product Increment (PI) planning.
Accepts delivery of working product from the Scrum Team. Socializes the delivery of business value and outcomes of the iteration to the stakeholders and clients.
Assists in other duties, tasks, and special projects as needed.
Education & Experience
Typically requires Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field
5+ years of relevant experience
Insurance knowledge is a plus
[OR] equivalent level of education and experience
Certifications in Agile and Scaled Agile frameworks is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies
Strong effective communication and leadership skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence resources from various technical disciplines both company employees and vendor partners.
Excellent analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to work independently with limited supervision.
Broad knowledge and understanding of relevant IT roles and disciplines.
Ability to develop strong relationship with business and technical participants.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to guide a matrixed and cross-functional team.
Experience working with Agile teams and knowledge of SAFe methodology.
Strong understanding of SDLC principles, including but not limited to Functional / nonfunctional requirements for on prem and cloud implementations, Security, and governance needs.
Hands on experience using backlog management tools like Jira, Azure DevOps Boards is a must.
Experience in P&C domain is a plus
Working knowledge of SQL and Reporting tools like Tableau is a plus.
