We are looking for a technical analyst who can bridge the divide between the product team and our developers. Someone who is adept at communicating with both technical and non-technical folks alike. Someone who can recognize and understand different types of APIs and design new ones appropriately. Cutting edge software will be developed in this new application and the technical analyst for this platform should be equally as cutting edge.

This team will be located in Sterling, VA, and will utilize the structure and staffing recommended by Marty Cagan, the industry-leading technology product management thought leader, to define, design and develop an application our customers will love. Job Description

Asurion is seeking a talented Technical Analyst 3 to join our exciting team in Sterling, VA. If you are an experienced professional driven by a passion for designing and implementing enterprise-level solutions, we want to meet you.

Asurion's new application is being built to track inventory and repairs that will utilize APIs from some highly recognized companies. The team needs a strong technical analyst who can apply previous API design knowledge to define the back-end platform interactions.


  • Utilizes technical and industry knowledge to work on projects across multiple platforms

  • Establishes and enforces platform best practices in API design

  • Provides technical, business and expertise in identifying, analyzing, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures

  • Gathers, analyzes and reports business data and inputs to identify issues, trends, or solutions

  • Works with multiple teams and documents cross team data and dependency mapping

  • Develops, coordinates, and implements plans to test business and functional processes

  • Consults with business unit management and personnel to identify and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input/output requirements, data scope, usage, formatting, and security

  • Partners with the business as a functional expert in a specific technology platform or IT focus area

  • Acts as a resource to less experienced Analysts

  • Proposes process improvements within a specific technology platform.

  • Designs solutions that are forward looking so significant refactoring is not required

  • Becomes an expert in Asurion business processes; an advocate for those best practices while leading Asurion teams and individuals through solutions that you design

  • Communicates complex solutions to non-technical audiences

  • Creates new architectural documents that clearly illustrate the technical design and enable success of the development and testing teams

  • Leads the exercise of determining root cause for complex production issues, categorizes as defects or enhancements, and prioritizes and delegates the resulting work

  • Creates documentation and tools that enable other Asurion applications to easily and successfully integrate with the API platform; drives self-sufficient API consumption and minimizes the support required by the API team


  • Minimum 4-year college degree in related field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering)
  • 3 years of System Analyst experience beyond degree required


  • Experience working with engineering teams on a daily basis, ideally from a leadership role

  • Excellent verbal and written communicator; can efficiently translate technical and non-technical; provides relevant information based on audience needs

  • Skilled at managing multiple, competing priorities simultaneously

  • "Can do" attitude, team player, fun, energetic personality

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive actions

  • Able to investigate defects to determine root cause, identify impacts, determine priority, and recommend solutions

  • Proficient in data modeling; experienced in leveraging best practices when making changes to the data model to support business needs

  • Advanced experience and demonstrated knowledge of Visio, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office suite

  • Proficiency in technical and business writing

  • Understands the services architecture and produces comprehensive documentation on the services

  • Prepares documentation, charts, and graphs pertinent to work assignments

  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with the business community, vendors, customers, and co-workers

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of AWS and Cloud technologies and infrastructure

  • Experienced in both the protocol and the message content of system to system integration, including SOAP, REST, HTTP, EMS, XML, and JSON

  • 2 years working experience designing distributed applications using SOA, microservices, or similar architectural strategies

  • Proficient understanding of SDLC processes

  • Maintains proficiency in the application and use of tools within the department

  • Proficiency with Relational Databases (RDBS) and familiarity with SQL queries

The Principal Technology Compliance Analyst leads the successful execution of all QTS Compliance Services programs developed in support of the QTS Compliance Services Charter, visions, strategies, and goals. The position can be located in any of these three QTS locations: Ashburn, Virginia, Overland Park, Kansas, or Suwanee, Georgia. This position will require up to 15% travel to QTS US data center locations as needed. RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned * Consults on the planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting of QTS Compliance Services programs including, but not limited to: * Sales Compliance Support - Presentation of QTS Compliance posture and review of compliance contractual language. * Compliance Marketing - Development of compliance marketing materials * Customer Compliance Support - Support of QTS customer compliance inquiries, questionnaires and audits. * Compliance Implementations - Implementation of new QTS or customer specific compliance standards as needed. * Compliance Monitoring – Continue the improvement of the monitoring of QTS Compliance controls to measure operating effectiveness. * Compliance Training - Development and delivery of QTS compliance training materials. * Developing QTS Compliance Services standard operating procedures. * Presenting to QTS executive management on Compliance Services programs and results. * Attainment of QTS Compliance Services goals.
