BASIC FUNCTION:################## Operates magnetic resonance equipment to produce cross-sectional images (photographs) of patient#s body for diagnostic purposes.# Makes professional, technical assessment of image quality and submits for medical interpretation of only those completed studies, which meet or exceed established standards.


NATURE AND SCOPE:


########## This position interacts with the Imaging Sciences Department, patients and families, physicians, and medical records.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:


########## Supports the mission, vision and values of the hospital. # Responsible for working in a safe and protective manner at all times keeping in mind that safety and environmental hazards are the responsibility of all employees for themselves, other staff members and patients. # Conducts a variety of computed magnetic resonance imaging procedures on pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. # Communicates relevant medical information to physicians and other staff through required documentation on specified medical record forms. # Practices appropriate Universal Precaution techniques. # Responsible for the accuracy of all identification information on completed images prior to interpretation. # Enters data into computer systems as may be required for examinations, communications, orders, billing and statistical documentation. CORE COMPETENCIES:##### National registration in one modality is necessary. # Florida State Certification for Radiography, Ultrasound or Nuclear Medicine is necessary. # Long periods of standing and walking are required. # BCLS Certification required from American Heart or American Red Cross.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:# Graduate of AMA or AOA approved School of Radiography, Nuclear Medicine or Ultrasound. # At least two (2) years of imaging experience in radiography, ultrasound, nuclear medicine or MRI is necessary.# # At least one (1) year of experience in processor monitoring and quality control is necessary.
