You will be perform in the role of a Senior Manufacturing Technician Specialist where you will develop, assemble, and fabricate structural and precision electrical/mechanical components and assemblies. This role requires that you to work from engineering drawings, written work instructions, and process specifications we use to meet our quality production standards. You will need to be a self-starter - capable of working independently, with minimal direction in an environment where the ability to work extended hours and weekends to support production demand is essential.

Summary of Key Duties for this position:

  • Possess an Active Secret Clearance at time of application to perform in this role.

  • You contribute to the mechanical/electrical fabrication of flight and ground support hardware.

  • You complete electronic, mechanical, or electromechanical assembly.

  • You construct, fault isolate, calibrate, test, and maintain equipment: components, devices, and systems.

  • You interpret engineer drawings and build assemblies we use with minimal work instructions.

  • You utilize basic math and computers skills.

  • You configure initial layouts using hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws.

  • You perform a variety of hands-on electrical assembly tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations.

  • You conduct in-process quality inspections on work in progress in accordance with quality specifications; make continuity checks on both work in progress and completed work.

  • You disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies under simulated conditions.

  • You work as a member of a team communicating technical issues to Manufacturing / Quality Engineers while supporting corrective actions.

  • Willingness to support occasional travel to remote sites in support of production operations.

  • Be able to be trained to perform all duties related to work you're doing in accordance with Lockheed Martin training requirements.

Typical Experience:

High School diploma, or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional specialized technical training equivalent to a technical Associate degree and/or proven ability to perform assigned technical/para-engineering tasks and 5 years of experience.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid Secret Clearance at time of application.

  • Must have prior experience supporting missile/ordnance manufacturing.

  • Significant experience with mechanical assembly.

  • Possess the skills and experience in the use of a variety of tools and materials related to electrical cable / wire harness fabrication and basic mechanical assembly.

  • Significant experience and understanding of building deliverable hardware built to military / flight specifications.

Desired Skills:

  • Possess IPC620 or NASA 8739.4 certification.

  • J-STD LTD solder and certification in adhesive bonding.

  • Experience with test instrumentation (accelerometers, thermocouples, and strain gauges).

  • Basic knowledge of test equipment (DITMO, O-scope, etc

  • Prior experience/certifications in industries specific to the job description.

  • Missile assembly and integration.

You will perform as a member of a team in the role of a Expediter producing Electronic Assemblies for Ground Support Equipment, Flight Harnesses and Chassis for Satellite, Spacecraft and Target / Hypersonic missile systems. This role will require you to be organized with exceptional attention-to-detail skills. You will collaborate with team leads, manufacturing engineers, technicians, quality, test and other key essential team members supporting manufacturing. You will be relied upon to assist the engineering and material planning team in daily assignment tasks for missile assembly, integration and testing, and ensure all activities meet program requirements. Individuals in this role typically have extensive experience, are able to work under limited supervision. No instructions are needed on routine work, and only general instructions are given on new lines of work or special assignments. Impact may affect work of others and potentially, if not caught, at section level. Contributes to and supports the completion of major organization activity. Erroneous work would have negative impact. Summary of Key Duties for this position: * Provide an interface between the technician, material planning and engineering for technical documentation, parts and consumables * Shop floor support, maintaining manufacturing plans, tooling requirements, engineering change implementation and coordinating change in the build process. * Manage Work In Process (WIP) and all related processes * May provide leadership, direction to lower level employees. In technical or production positions, may determine methods, operations, sequences; develops and/or modifies products and equipment to requirements Basic Qualifications: * Ability to create wire cut lists from schematics, drawings or tabulated wire lists * Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical engineering drawings, schematics and build specifications for configuration control * Ability to read and interpret specifications to determine material requirements which are not included in drawings but implied via specifications * Ability to recognize drawing errors or parts incompatibility * Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills * Ability working to an integrated master schedule. * Ability to interpret detailed work instructions from electrical and mechanical engineering drawings Desired Skills: * Technical Associate degree * Complex electrical harness and/or chassis manufacturing and test experience or experience in a similar hardware type processing facility * Experience presenting work status to leaders * Experience with Lockheed Martin Space Systems Enterprise Parts, Materials and Process Specifications (Manufacturing Work Instructions, Routings, Production Orders, Bill of Materials, Qnotes, FFMEAs, FOE/FOD, CIPS, Specs LMS1000 and EMS200, etc.) or industry equivalent * Experience with Lockheed Martin Space Systems system tools (SAP, EPDM, VECAMS, PMP Database, etc.) or industry equivalent * ESD and/or Ordnance missile assembly, integration and test experience * Experience with Workflow or Status tools (i.e. Tableau, eWhiteboard, SAP, VECAMS, etc.) * Possess or have the ability to be trained and certified in accordance with LM SSC training requirement to perform all duties related to assigned tasks * Possess or have the ability to be approved for a SECRET security clearance Benefits of Employment: To promote the sharing of ideas, Lockheed Martin fosters an inclusive work environment that encourages differences and big-picture thinking.
