Ringway Jacobs seeks a skilled highway maintenance technician to join our Maintenance and Operations team. Working closely with the Senior Engineer, you'll implement maintenance programs aligned with County Council policies. Responsibilities include delivering top-notch service, coordinating maintenance works, and engaging with key stakeholders for efficient resource management. The Role

• To provide a first-class service to our customers, completing a high standard of maintenance to the highway network, helping to ensure that all maintenance activities are delivered in accordance with the strategies and policies of the County Council and Essex Highways.

• To undertake desktop studies, site visits and the preparation and design of work packs.

• To provide timely and accurate advice to elected members and the general public on all highway-related matters as required.

• Support Health and Safety, Environmental Management System, Quality Management System and Construction Design Management in a positive and constructive manner, with the aim of minimising work-related injuries by implementing Ringway Jacobs policies and procedures.

• To contribute to providing speedy and courteous responses to queries and complaints in accordance with relevant targets and standards.

Job Description

About You

• HNC, A-level education or equivalent qualification, or demonstrable experience in highways.

• Membership of or working towards a relevant Professional Institution is desirable including evidence of continuous professional development.

• Knowledge of Highway Legislation, relevant design procedures and standards.

• Knowledge of relevant engineering or service techniques and procedures including the use of specialist software tools as required.

• Demonstrable awareness of all environmental aspects and impacts and waste management.
