In this role, you have the opportunity to

Assist the Engineers with non-repetitive assignments, and performs tasks that are standard and supervised. Operates relatively autonomous within procedures, methods and techniques. Information on assignments is not always complete and leaves some scope for own interpretation; makes own choice of approach and chooses from known solutions based upon technical knowledge.

You are responsible for:

  • Performs as an experienced Technician to assemble and test equipment.

  • Conducting failure investigations on less complex products and perform the rework and repair.

  • Determining the approach from known solutions based upon technical knowledge.

  • Documenting investigations and rework properly in the SAP Quality Notification system.

  • Effectively communicating with operators, fellow technicians, engineers and supervisors as required

You are a part of

The Philips Sleep & Respiratory Care (SRC) business, which exists to restore natural sleep and breathing. You will be part of the Manufacturing Technologies team in the New Kensington, PA location.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • Associates in Electronics or Similar Degree

  • 1+ year electromechanical assembly experience

  • Strong Electro-Mechanical Skills are required to assemble test equipment used in a high volume-manufacturing environment. This can include, but not limited to electrical panel point to point wiring, motors, relays, drivers, air pressure and flow controls.

  • Ability to understand and interpret basic electrical and pneumatic schematic drawings used in equipment assembly and integration.

  • Ability to fabricate using basic power tools and hand tools. This can include, but not limited to Steel Panel Electrical Boxes, aluminum plates and Holding Fixtures.

  • Able to work with direct supervision to complete basic tasks.

  • Coordination with external equipment vendors and parts ordering.

  • Standard office computer skills. Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Job Details: * Troubleshoots sources of equipment problems by observing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems equipment and component devices in the operation; uses precision measuring and testing instruments. * Assists other maintenance personnel with emergency and non-emergency repairs. * Inspects motors and belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, and performs other maintenance actions while following maintenance procedures. * Performs various welding activities including MIG, TIG, ARC, cutting, and brazing. * Troubleshoots and repairs Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's) and associated control systems. * Performs boiler chemical testing; records result in log books; and makes necessary chemistry adjustments. * Performs daily and weekly safety checks on boilers and makes necessary repairs. * Performs wastewater pretreatment system testing; record results in logbooks; and makes necessary chemistry adjustments. * Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of location equipment per work procedures or technical manual. * Inspects motors and belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, and performs other maintenance actions while following maintenance records. * Utilizes a Computerized Maintenance Management System. Qualifications * High school diploma or GED required.Two-year technical degree in an appropriate background preferred. * Equipment Maintenance Knowledge – Minimum of 1 year work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment required.Applicable military experience will be considered. * Ability to read blueprints and schematics required. * Ability to read and understand maintenance literature printed in English required. * Basic computer and Microsoft office skills required. * Experience using Hand & Power tools required. * Lockout/Tagout experience required.
