Performs technical and processing functions associated with Phlebotomy, Holter Monitoring, EEG and EKG in the Outpatient Laboratory while meeting the holistic needs of the entire family.
Completes constant observation assignment. Assists with maintaining, observing and recording observation data.
Explains procedures to patient and family prior to implementation.
Performs order entry processes in the hospital computer system.
Performs phlebotomy, EKGs and distributes for reading.
Identifies and responds quickly to potentially life threatening situations, i.e., seizure or convulsions activity during EEG recording
Performs Electrocerebral Silence (ECS) or Electrocerebral Inactivity recordings in suspected cerebral death.
Performs Holter Monitor procedure.
Demonstrates competency in Holter Monitor operation and troubleshooting equipment problems.
Provides instruction and demonstration to patient and significant other in the use of an application of Holter Monitoring.
Instructs patient in the use of the Holter diary.
Records all pertinent pre and post Holter data.
Assures accuracy by proof reading computer report and tracings. Also proof reads typed report prior to physician signature.
Performs designated clinical tasks under the direction of the Clinical Manager.
Performs related duties, as required.
High School Diploma or equivalent,
Minimum of two (2) years of patient care experience, preferred.
Medical terminology course, preferred.
