Job Summary: Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will perform a wide variety of equipment maintenance related activities in context of the high-volume manufacturing of Silicon Carbide (SiC) substrate products at our Pine Brook, NJ location.
Basic Function of the Job:
Performs a wide variety of equipment and maintenance related activities in context of the high-volume manufacturing of SiC substrate products at the AMD/Pine Brook, NJ location.
Focuses primary efforts on the operation, performance, modification, installation, maintenance/upgrading of crystal growth and other critical process (i.e. mechanical, electrical, plumbing, gas and vacuum supply and process control/automation) equipment
Carries out or supports facility layout modifications in Pine Brook, NJ site location.
Provides in-house specialty electrical, mechanical and plumbing capabilities at AMD location.
Provides 24/7 on-call emergency support to the crystal growth, fabrication, and all other production areas.

Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
5 years of relevant facilities and maintenance experience in electronics/optical materials RD&E and/or manufacturing environment
5 years experience as a plant industrial technician with heavy emphasis on 480/208 equipment installations
5 years experience as a plant plumber with heavy emphasis on industrial plumbing installations
5 years experience as a framer/sheetrock installer
Experience with problem analysis and resolution
Demonstrated ability to achieve results independently or working with others
Ability to recommend and implement improvements
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Experience with networked PC based computer systems (MS Office, spreadsheets, access graphics, Email software)
Valid driver's license required
Must have a reliable personal vehicle for business travel
Skills:
General knowledge and hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, inert gas and vacuum supply, process cooling and process control/automation equipment in an electronic or optical materials processing environment
Demonstrated capability to trouble-shoot and resolve equipment and facility problems that occur during power outages and other time-, safety- or cost-critical situations
Ability to successfully interact with and provide service to a wide variety of engineers, scientists, technicians and managers while displaying a customer oriented attitude
Ability to handle multiple priorities involving external and internal priorities
Ability to excel in a cross-organizational, cross cultural, global team environment
Handle special assignments promptly and professionally

Monitors and maintains the operation of critical process equipment and (such as SiC crystal growth furnaces, polishing and wire sawing equipment) according to an appropriate schedule and maintains the records required to track and verify satisfactory system performance and/or anticipate system malfunction or failure; Shares systems operation and trend information appropriately with responsible managers
Performs both routine and complex critical process equipment maintenance procedures according to documented "best practice" methods; Teams with facilities / engineering resources when appropriate or required
Participates in the design and updating of a well-documented equipment preventative maintenance program
Participates in the documentation of new or upgraded equipment maintenance operating procedures as they are readied for deployment as "best practices"
Provides updates on equipment and facility related efforts to Equipment Manager.
Participates in the construction/upgrading of new/existing process tools (growth stations, anneal furnaces, etc.) Teams with facilities resources to provide this service.
Monitors the operation of specific items of critical infrastructure systems (such as UPS, gas distribution, chiller and cooling water systems) according to appropriate schedules and maintains the records required to track and verify satisfactory system performance and/or anticipate system malfunction or failure; Shares equipment operation and trend information appropriately with responsible crystal growth team members
Participates in the design and updating of a well-documented preventative maintenance program for specific items of critical infrastructure equipment
Participates in the documentation of new or upgraded critical infrastructure operating procedures as they are readied for deployment as "best practices"
Serves as a back-up resource for crystal growth setup and monitoring, fabrication and polishing activities during peak-loading periods when extra resources are required to overcome bottleneck situations
Performs crystal growth, fabrication and polishing process steps according to documented "best practice" methods
An ESGP is co-developed and pursued.
