Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Technical Engineering Support Teams analyze, test and assist in research for the development of products and processes. Team members may specialize in quality control or assurance, chemical manufacturing processes, metals, electrical connectors and components, process development, materials, and/or instrumentation. They may also handle calibration, displays, network control, mold development and audiovisual work or environmental health and safety. The Technical Engineering Support Teams are responsible for the completion of assigned engineering projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines. They plan, prioritize, and manage multiple engineering projects; prioritize tasks and assign team members to ensure that the team's overall resources are used effectively and that project deadlines are met. They evaluate and authorize changes that significantly impact the scope, budget, or timeline of a project. At times, they may work directly with customers to understand needs, gather customer requirements, identify resources and assess project risks. They create, develop, plan, write and edit operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for paper, multimedia or web-based publication, for non-technical and technical users.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews 3D CAD design blueprints

  • Makes calculations for programming including where materials should be cut

  • Translates instructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program

  • Communicates with engineers and clients who will use the programs

  • Checks completed programs by running simulations or tests

  • Prepares geometric layout of designs using proper software

  • Determines sequence of operations in a program.

Chooses cutting tools that will be needed

  • Analyses job order and performs necessary calculations.

Writes programs and modifies existing ones for increased efficiency

  • Analyses and selects speeds and cutting tools for programs

  • Makes improvements to set up times for a task and contouring of complex shapes

  • Simplifies tooling time for workers and increases productivity for the client

  • Evaluates all completed designs to validate their functions and ensure they successfully reduce time and money for the client

  • Monitors all programs to make sure they follow blueprint instructions and safely and successfully complete the task

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or GED required

  • Minimum 3 years' experience using CAD software preferred

  • Experience with programming / ESPRIT software knowledge a plus

  • Blueprint reading required

  • Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SAP required

  • Associate degree in CNC programming, a computer-related field or a mechanical field preferred

  • US Citizen or Perm Legal Resident is required

  • Knowledge of electronics and machine tools.

  • Certification from accredited technical school preferred

VIEW JOBS 11/12/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-10T00:00 Job Description Position Purpose: Repair and Tool Technicians are responsible for the evaluation and repair of small engines, outdoor power equipment and handheld electrical devices. This position makes equipment recommendations and ensures that units are maintained. Technicians work in both our stores with Tool Rental Centers and in our repair centers. In a store, technicians will be expected to provide service to store customers in Tool Rental which includes writing customer contracts and invoices for equipment rental and tool repairs, checking to make sure tool is operating properly and demonstrating its proper use (as needed). In addition to supporting customer repair needs, they are also responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment in the tool rental department. In non-store locations, technicians will ensure units are repaired, tested for the quality of the repair and cleaned prior to returning to the store where the repair originated. Technicians must have a thorough knowledge of all tools and must effectively manage the tool inventory by maintaining the tools and repairing them as necessary. Home Depot Oceanside CA
