Where you will work:
The Elwood facility produces bathroom tissue, household paper towels, facial tissue, and napkins for major retail outlets throughout the United States. The Clearwater Paper facility sits on 14 acres and boasts over 200 talented employees. The manufacturing process at Elwood is highly automated with 9 converting lines utilizing slitters, rewinders, wrappers, and a variety of laser guided vehicles. What you will do:
Operational and Safety Focus
Assist in the development and delivery of EHS training for employees, defining site-specific training materials
Lead/conduct incident investigations into safety and environmental-related matters, including root cause analysis and recommend corrective action plans to ensure regulatory compliance
Help create and support emergency response programs
Conduct routine EHS observations for compliance with regulatory agencies, company health and safety policies, procedures, and practices. Ensure controls are implemented to eliminate or reduce issues
Facilitate and support site-wide environmental and safety programs including lockout powered industrial equipment, and ergonomic issues.
Work with other departmental resources (Warehouse, Maintenance, Converting) to implement and execute successful EHS programs
Complete EHS area inspections, recommending measures for reduction and elimination of safety, and health risks
Hold self and others to high level of safety standards, ensuring workplace safety policies are upheld and safety rules are followed (lockout/tagout procedures, appropriate PPE, confine spaces, safe driving practices, etc.)
Update safety documentation, ensuring all regulatory requirements are being met (safety performance measures, hazard abatement tracking, equipment inspection records, Safety Data Sheet, etc.)
Participate in audits and provide follow up guidance to correct deficiencies

What you will need:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
2+ years of industrial experience in an Environmental or Safety capacity preferred
If internal candidate, must have successfully completed up through level 5 Qualification
Basic understanding of OSHA standards
Strong Communication skills (Verbal/Written/Listening).
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced industrial setting.
Must be self-motivated, energetic and work with minimal supervision.
Must be results oriented.
Capable of creating quality work while meeting deadlines.
Must be able to work in office environment and on production floor.
Able to comply with all PPE
Must be physically capable of standing, walking and climbing stairs up to 8-10 hours per day.
Must be able to work in a hot, dusty, humid, noisy mill environment around high-speed equipment.
Must be able to adjust work hours to support the safety and environmental needs of a 24/7 facility.
