  • Process cord blood/cord tissue samples at all workstations trained and maintain certifications.

  • Adhere to guidelines set forth in safety manual. Understand job hazard analysis concerns and communicate safety issues, deviations from procedures, anomalies, and abnormalities to responsible parties.

  • Perform all assigned duties in compliance with internal processes; as well as external regulations.

  • Audit, verify, and maintain accurate records.

  • Maintain donor, client, and employee confidentiality.

  • Perform repetitive tasks, while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Perform general lab cleaning and maintenance.

  • *Participate in multiple department projects/teams, taking lead as needed.

  • Demonstrate understanding of lean manufacturing methodologies at each workstation.

  • Evaluate disposables and equipment for non-conformities.

  • Generate service tickets and record information relevant to event reports in order to capture deviations and non-conformities.

  • Provide assistance to the processing staff by answering questions.

  • Provide workstation coverage.

  • Become eligible to be a Mentor at the discretion of management, participating in all aspects of the mentor program.

  • Demonstrate ability to perform limited supervisor duties.

  • Identify ways to improve processes. Experience in participating in cross-departmental team projects and special duties as necessary.

  • Is able to take clear direction, work independently and sees tasks through to completion and on time.

  • Becomes involved with specialty teams and other departments as needed. I.e.: Safety Team, Documents representative, cross training.

  • A 4 year or Associate's degree, preferably in a Laboratory Science or MLT/CLT; or High School diploma with 3 years of equivalent work experience; or 1 year of experience working at CBR as a Processing Technician; or equivalent combination of education and processing technician experience.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
