Summary:

Provides distributive pharmacy services and support for the pharmacy department. Serves as trainer and mentor for other Technicians and students and assists to ensure proper drug storage and maintenance to meet regulatory compliance.

Detailed responsibilities:

  • Performs cross functional duties of Technician I.

  • Performs sterile compounding, including limited hazardous medications.

Knowledge of insurance companies payer policies/coverage as well as payment /denial/appeal processes and resolutions. Detailed responsibilities: * Manages insurance benefits, verification, prior authorization (PA) and service appeals and serves as the primacy contact for the insurance companies and providers to obtain necessary documentations for prior authorization (PA) processing. * Communicates with patients and providers insurance benefits including any patient's financial responsibilities to Memorial Home Infusion for service (co-payments/ insurance deductible). * Responsible for managing, communicating and if needed updating /documenting insurance benefits updates in a timely manner for patients receiving home infusion services. * Responsible for staying abreast with government and manage care regulations to ensure accuracy with claims submission, billing and collections.
