Job Summary
This position performs technical duties in the maintenance and repair of campus/instructional site buildings.
Responsibilities
Is responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college¿s mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies.
Inspect, repair, and maintain buildings, structures, and mechanical systems on multiple campuses, to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards.
Performs general upkeep procedures including, but not limited to; general carpentry, minor roof repairs, painting, relocation of goods and materials, plumbing, bulb replacement, and door hardware
Conduct regular building inspections for the purpose of detecting potential risks and future problems
Performs quality assurance inspections and articulates findings to outside contractors and/or vendors who performed the work
Certify work is completed in a satisfactory manner and reports findings to supervisor for the purpose of releasing payment to contractors or vendors
Completes digital work orders and associated paperwork in a timely manner
Prioritizing, planning, and scheduling maintenance repairs
Responsible for maintaining inventory and all assigned assets in proper operational condition (tools, equipment, and vehicles)
Responsible for the management and reporting of use of a state issued purchasing card
Arranges furnishings and equipment for the purpose of providing adequate preparations for meetings, classroom activities, and special events at all Georgia Highlands locations
This role may be designed by the institution as a Position of Trust, and managers will inform employees if this designation pertains to them
May require response to afterhours emergency situations
Inspection and monitor building maintenance for facility safety hazards

Proposed Salary
This is a full time position with benefits.
Salary is $40,000/year
19.23/hr

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of building maintenance principles and practices
Knowledge of proper handling procedures and safe operation of power tools, hand tools, and related job specific equipment
Knowledge of the proper use and operation of light to medium motorized equipment including, but not limited to; fork trucks, skid steer loader, ariel lifts and platforms
Knowledge of proper wear and use of personal protective equipment
Knowledge of and ability to perform lock-out, tag-out procedures
Knowledge of safe working practices and procedures in occupied spaces
Knowledge and ability to safely handle hazardous materials in accordance with laws and regulations
Skill in the repair and maintenance of building systems
Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions
Skill in oral and written communication
Skilled and experienced in safely working around single and three-phase electricity
Ability to safely operate combination vehicles including: pulling a trailer in traffic and backing a trailer
Ability to interpret and understand blueprints, specifications and schematics
Ability to safely work at various heights on platforms, ladders, and scaffolding
Ability and willingness to assist other personnel for the purpose of ensuring timely and accurate work output
