  • Changes oil and fluids in equipment to specifications.

  • Uses basic troubleshooting skills on various machines with Technician III or IV assistance. Walks around machinery to inspect. Operates machinery to locate problem. Determines what services are required to repair the machine and has Technician III or IV assist in diagnosing problems for quality control.

  • Gives diagnosis to Service Writer. Works with Service Writer to achieve an appropriate estimate.

  • Gathers parts needed for repair, using parts book to accurately determine correct parts required for the job. Communicates required repair parts to Parts Consultant.

  • Uses technician tools, including but not limited to: service manuals, operations manuals, SIS Web STW and parts books effectively to address technical issues.

  • Performs all required tasks in accordance with printed procedures.

  • Requests another technician to conduct quality control review of repaired machine.

  • Writes service report for every machine repair in detail. Prints off hardcopy of service report with work orders and saves to server.

  • Assists other technicians on large repairs as needed.

  • Performs some simple tasks independently, such as machine inspections and minor troubleshooting, when scheduled for required preventative maintenance work.

  • Handles all customer inquiries in a prompt and professional manner.

  • Adheres to all customer care standards.

  • Actively cares and advocates safety at Western States. Adhere to all applicable safety policies, procedures and standards.

  • May accomplish training and serve as a team member in support of Western States' strategic programs, projects, and initiatives.

  • Work within and promote corporate vision, mission, and values of the organization.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Ability to learn and use computer systems (ET, STW, Parts Integration, SIS Web).

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.

  • Consistent attendance and timeliness.

  • Ability to work overtime with little or no notice.


  • Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

  • Associate Degree from an accredited vocational school preferred or comparable work experience required.

  • One to two years minimum experience working on heavy equipment in a Caterpillar or similar environment with hydraulic, engine and powertrain experience required.

  • Disassemble, assemble, remove and install machine components, and systems experience desired.

  • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English).


  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time along with walking, sitting, repetitive climbing stairs, reaching (including but not limited to above-shoulder reaching), repetitive bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, leaning and twisting.

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs in accordance with Western States' Lifting Safe Work Practice to include amount and approach.

  • Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies.

  • Exposure to extreme temperatures and environment.

  • Exposure to high noise level.

  • Exposure to fumes.

The 24-Flex position is filled by an employee who is regularly scheduled 32 hours or greater per week or 64 hours or greater per pay period which includes a scheduled flex shift of 8, 10, or 12 hours per week or per pay period that they are obligated to work unless the flex shift is canceled. Flex employees receive full-time employee health insurance benefits, even though some weeks they may get "flexed down" and only work 24 hours for that week. In this position you will: * Assist in maintaining a therapeutic milieu environment, lead therapeutic patient activities and psycho-educational groups as assigned. * Maintain a therapeutic relationship with patients and family members. * Treat each patient with appropriate dignity and respect; project a non-judgmental attitude. * Monitor patient behavior during non-structured activities; intervene appropriately. * Assist with patient's comfort and mobility needs. * Accurately measure and document patient vital signs, intake and output, and competently assists with patient care as assigned. * Report abnormal data element findings to licensed staff . * Promptly instruct patient and collect specimens as assigned. * Complete delegated patient care activities and record and report variations, ie hygiene, dressing, toileting and ambulating as assigned. * Contribute to the assessment of the newly-admitted patient by collecting information for analysis by the RN. Required qualifications for this position include: * Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) licensure in the State of Montana * Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from the following authorized governing bodies: American Heart Association (AHA) - (BLS Provider), American Red Cross (ARC) - (BLS for Health Care Provider), or Military Training Network (MTN) - (Healthcare Provider) upon hire * Crisis Prevention certification required within 6 months of hire Preferred qualifications for this position include: * Experience in a hospital setting * Prior experience in a psych unit * Experience working with psychiatric patients About the hospital you will serve.
