Job Description:

Performs routine operational tests on moderately complex electronic production components, and subassemblies. The selected candidate will apply standard practices and techniques in electronic, mechanical, or other disciplines in providing support for new and ongoing technical programs.

Programs will include work in digital/analog circuity, optical encoders, servo systems, RF modulation/transmission/receiver, and limited optical interfacing systems. Assists engineers and higher classified technicians in the performance of more complex tests

Duties Include:

Follows test specifications, test procedures, and verbal instructions in order to perform a variety of tests which require reading, interpreting, and verifying specifications using manual and automated test setups.

Operates a variety of test equipment such as voltmeter, oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, RF power meters, etc. usually working with multiple pieces of equipment at a time as specified.

Determines quality of equipment being tested by checking test results against specific test procedures and data sheets.

Performs troubleshooting activities, diagnoses deficiencies down to the component level and recommends rework where necessary.

Affixes acceptance stamp to equipment indicating that tested components, subassemblies and systems conform to predetermined standards and specifications.

Records test data and prepares test failure/acceptance reports and other paperwork as required.

Assists engineers in performance of more complex tests involving the simultaneous use of a wide variety of test equipment.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

The Optometric Technician assists the Optometrist by conducting pre-screenings and testing prior to the doctor examination. What would you do? – The Specifics * Ensures high quality patient care. * Maintains a professional atmosphere and appearance of doctor's office and pretest room. * Understands ocular terminology and diseases and knows the ocular abbreviations. * Explains to the patient the types of preliminary examinations. * Completes necessary paperwork and performs testing on patients prior to doctor examination. * Promotes visual field testing and retinal screenings to eligible patients. * Performs exam pre-screening. * Reviews prescriptions and/or patient information carefully and identifies special needs. Consults with the optician, Doctor or Retail Management when necessary. * Fills out referral forms and follow-up paperwork as required. * Maintains accurate and organized patient records. * Ensures equipment, both Doctor's and pre-test, is properly maintained. * Orders and maintains supplies and pharmaceuticals as directed. * Follows all store and corporate policies and procedures. * Participates in regularly scheduled mandatory communications meetings in order to keep informed of changes in corporate policies and initiatives. Position Requirements: * Previous retail/optical experience preferred, but not required. * Strong customer service skills. * Ability to learn optical knowledge. * Able to give instruction in a clear and concise manner to customers. * Effective interpersonal skills. * Excellent organizational skills. * Detailed oriented. * Multitasking and time-management skills. * Professional attitude and appearance.
