Description
Job Summary: The role of the Manufacturing Engineering Technician is to support the Manufacturing Engineers in developing/implementing solutions for production processes, and maintaining required documentation to meet team objectives. The technician will interact with manufacturing engineering, production, product engineering and quality functions.
Essential Responsibilities/Activities:
Under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineer, perform duties which align with the overall goals and projects of the department.
Support equipment, infrastructure and project implementation in the shop floor.
Work on assigned projects related to 6S, equipment and production line flow.
Assist with related Manufacturing Engineering functions, e.g., fixture design, cost reduction and quality control.
Build and install infrastructure such as: Work Tables, Racks, carts, etc.
Update and improve plant layout drawing.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
Degree(s): Minimum 2-year technical degree
License(s): None
Certification(s): None
Must have Solid Edge and AutoCAD experience.
Welding, electrical and machining capabilities is a plus.
Essential Mental Functions:
Communicates effectively in written and spoken form.
Possesses excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
Exhibits good decision making and analytical problem solving abilities.
Demonstrates strong multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills.
Works effectively in a team environment.
Works effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.
Essential Physical Functions:
Lift up to 50lbs.
Sit or stand for up to 95 percent of work hours.
Periodic visits to the manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.
