Note: Employees hired on banded positions (ex: P1-P3, R1-R2, B1-B3, etc.) transfer at their current level, despite the level indicated on the job posting. For example, if a P2 candidate is selected for a P1-P3 banded position, the candidate will remain a P2 in the new role.

Position Description:

The technician position participates in environmental monitoring, compressed air, and nitrogen testing for all IAPI buildings. Ensures monitoring frequencies follow procedure requirements.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

  • Ensure compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and assist in identification and investigations of non-conformance issues.

  • Perform environmental monitoring sampling, including non-viable, viable, surface sampling and personnel monitoring.

  • Participate in Environmental Monitoring Performance Qualification (EMPQ) execution.

  • Using electronic system or paper documents, ensure complete and effective monitoring data.

  • Support constant state of inspection-readiness.

  • Test or support collection of environmental monitoring samples.

  • Ensure that data-integrity is maintained.

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, working safely and accountable for supporting all HSE Corporate and Site Goals.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education

  • Associate degree (2 year) in a science field such as microbiology or biology or High School Diploma with 2 years of relevant GMP experience.

  • Experience

  • Strong oral and written communication skills and demonstrated through documentation and presentation skills.

Additional Preferences:

  • Strong understanding of cGMPs, environmental monitoring procedures, processes & equipment

  • Understanding of regulatory standards/requirements for laboratory functions.

  • Must be able to obtain & maintain aseptic gown certification.

  • Strong computer skills.

  • High-quality skills to include attention to detail, and capability of meeting critical deadlines.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, troubleshooting and investigative skills, and critical thinking & decision-making skills.

Other Information:

  • Night shift position

  • Overtime, weekends, and holiday work will be required to support business needs.

  • Available off-shift to respond to operational issues.

  • Work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

  • EM Laboratory specialist tasks involve repetitive motions.
