Essential duties:

  • Responsible for safety policies and procedures of both the company and the customer, including hands-on information regarding operations, safety, equipment, emergency response and administrative functions.

  • Hands-on operation of manual and automated hydroblasting equipment.

  • Operation of special equipment, such as Ultra High-Pressure pumps.

  • Operate equipment by energizing the pumping equipment and/or any specialized Hydroblasting and/or Chemical cleaning equipment, vacuum trucks and cutting equipment being used on the job.

  • May be required to examine surface cleaned to ensure conformance to company and customer expectations.

  • Conduct routine and required maintenance on the unit and all peripherals, including industrial vacuuming equipment and the disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.

  • Perform routine maintenance on company equipment being used on the job.

  • Additional duties as assigned

Working Environment:

  • Industrial setting, refinery, petrochemical, utilities, pulp and paper mills, etc.

Educational requirements:

  • High school diploma / GED or equivalent experience.

Skills and experience:

  • Specific vocational preparation including classroom safety training, on-the-job training and essential experience gained on other jobs.

  • Language proficiency: understand English at a level to comprehend safety training and respond to instructions in emergency situations.

  • Valid driver license and other requirements of company's driving policy required when driving company vehicle or using personal vehicle on company business.

  • OSHA certification may be required for this job.

  • Must be knowledgeable in the operation of emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers.

  • May have to provide Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).

The Granite City facility is comprised of two air separation (ASU) plants supporting pipeline and merchant gas businesses. Liquid oxygen, nitrogen and argon products are manufactured and delivered to a customer base in and around the St. Louis metro area. This position is a M-Fri - 8 hour shift. Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent (GED) * Accredited military or trade school diploma or certificate is required * Five years of industrial experience working on instrumentation and electrical equipment, and equipment calibration according to defined standards * Applicable military training will be considered equivalent to industrial experience * Strong mechanical skills * Proficient communication and computer skills * Demonstrated commitment to quality workmanship and flexibility in job assignments * Ability and initiative to complete job assignments in a timely manner * Follow safe work practices, NEC guidelines, and standard operating procedures * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders * Able to work in a team environment Responsibilities: * Install and troubleshoot a variety of electrical equipment * Calibrate manufacturing instrumentation according to procedures * Perform routine PMs on manufacturing and building equipment * Trouble shoot PLC equipment * Assist other maintenance techs with assigned tasks * Complete instrument tracking documentation * Complete required safety tasks and activities * Develop procedures for instrument calibrations and preventive maintenance tasks * Support facility operations by completing assigned work orders * This role will have some on-call responsibilities CORE COMPETENCIES FOR THIS POSITION: INTEGRITY Integrity is a vital part of the Air Product's culture and employees are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards and communicate across all channels with respect and honesty.
