The technician shall work closely with scientists and other lab personnel, and will perform laboratory activities to support on-going projects. Lab activities can be routine or non-routine experiments. Some routine work can include chemical handling for use in high temperature and high pressure/high vacuum polymerizations, thermal analysis, equipment maintenance, etc. While non-routine work can include assembly, testing and trouble shooting of new lab set-up, and lab work required to support manufacturing needs, etc. It is expected that the technician be able to practice and teach safe work habits, comply with all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with scientists and engineers in supporting on-going EM projects

  • Safely perform and complete routine and non-routine lab experiments (high temp chemistry polymerization and wet chemistry)

  • Conduct and/or submit for chemical analysis of raw materials and product samples using different analytical methodologies/instrumentation.

  • Responsible for maintenance of assigned lab equipment and in proper working condition

  • Maintain a properly filled lab notebook. Record all data, unusual observations.

  • Order chemicals, materials, equipment and supplies via purchasing system

  • Familiar with analytical and polymer characterization test equipment

  • Submit or provide update/progress reports on a timely manner. Maintain and secure electronic data and documentations

  • Follow safe work practices; be proactive in implementing safety and housekeeping

Qualifications

More than one year relevant experience working in a chemistry lab (wet chemistry, lab scale reactions, polymerization reaction is a plus) Associates degree (Preferably, Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Material Science) Experience with handling and safe handling/disposal of hazardous chemicals Familiarity with operating common lab equipment, procedures, and handling chemicals Demonstrate mechanical aptitude, ability to maintain and troubleshoot laboratory set-up and equipment Positive work attitude and initiative; pro-actively seek best practices for improved efficiency Strong communication skills and team player

Desired:

  • Working knowledge of MS tools (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)

  • Working knowledge (or experience) in lab scale polymerization

  • Candidates with appropriate experience in materials R&D

Job Title: * Logistics Technician 1 in Florence KY Position Summary: * Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of powered industrial trucks while loading and unloading trucks on the receiving dock. * Responsible for moving materials to and from the production area and cleanliness of the warehouse. * Responsible for preparing for shipments out of the facility in accordance with all procedures. * Post all raw materials movements on the computerized tracking system. Key Duties / Responsibilities: * Moves material within and from the warehouse to the production area, and returns finished products to the shipping area. * Works closely with machine leads and site supervision to manage raw materials, to insure continuous production of finished products. * Interprets work orders and performs appropriate duties to support production machine changeovers. * Unloads trucks of raw materials and loads recycling material on trucks in a safe, timely and cost effective manner * Performs good housekeeping techniques at the job site areas, properly handling paper waste and debris, and the removal of all potential safety hazards from the general area. * Moves all materials within production area and locates copy. * Produces in/out reports and completes Problem Material Reports. * Removes pallets, strapping and packing materials, and moves recycle materials to recycle area. * Maintains facility by applying Environmental Health & Safety and Good Housekeeping Standards as needed. * Receives and stores all postal equipment until needed by production. * Weighs, as required, and places in proper location all finished products following company/department guidelines. * As required by USPS, completes accurately all required paperwork, to ensure proper loads prior to dispatching trucks. Education & Knowledge: * Ability to speak and communicate effectively utilizing the English language, preferred. * Prefer high school diploma or equivalent. Experience / Skills / Abilities: * 0 – 1 year related experience. * Ability to multi-task. * Safety certification for power industrial equipment.
