The Manager of Training, reporting to the Director Global Customer Experience and Training is responsible for managing the Surveillance division training department ensuring adherence to schedules, customer requirements, training curriculum, and support entities. You will be responsible managing and creating content, and for delivering Instructor Led Training (ILT) sessions to FLIR's customers and channel partners. Strong consideration will be given to qualified internal candidates.
The Training Manager will supervise and lead a team of Technical Trainers that deliver product training to customers worldwide.
Provide consistent and common training curriculum and pricing throughout FLIR's Surveillance division.
Direct customer and employee technical training throughout FLIR"s Surveillance division.
Responsible to manage appropriate class training syllabi for courses to include support documentation.
Maintain communications with customers to ensure proper scheduling of courses as well as determine the effectiveness of training.
Requires understanding of current product employment for our diverse customer base.
Responsible for the training and qualifications of trainers, Business Development Managers, FSEs and Apps Engineers that routinely conduct training.
Manage scheduling and task organizing of training personnel. Some of these personnel will still report to respective Service Departments and Apps Engineering, however they will be responsible for executing training as scheduled by the Training staff.
Develop new course options and training products for customers.
Manage and promote current training and simulation products. Expand simulation product portfolio.
Increase customer satisfaction, training revenues and profitability.
Support Operational Testing and Evaluation when able, leveraging instructor expertise.
Use training personnel for validation of Operator documentation during the production of training materials.
Plan and execute the Operator Training Workshop, on a recurring basis.
Liaison with Global Trade Compliance personnel to ensure strict compliance with ITAR.
Liaison with Sales Operations and Business Development personnel to ensure customer training needs are met.
Supervise, mentor, coach and lead a team of direct reports.
Will travel extensively (50%+) to make customer and FLIR sites.
Responsible to attend training seminars, certification, trade shows, and continuing education classes to keep abreast of customer needs and best practices.
Must possess high level of skills to develop, monitor, and modify course, curriculum, instructor syllabus, and training aids.
7-10 years in a technical training related role is desired.
Military experience is desirable. Active duty, reservists, guardsmen, and veterans are encouraged to apply if they meet the qualifications for this position.
B.S. in a technical field from an accredited 4-year college or university or equivalent experience is preferred.
Ability to supervise, direct, hire, and train technical staff with good communication skills for customer interface and interdepartmental collaboration.
Must be a team player and willing to work closely with internal resources and management to maintain highest levels of customer satisfaction and training.
Must possess excellent Microsoft Office skills and superior oral communication skills.
