The purpose of the Technical Writer is to play a critical role in translating technical information into organized content for use by system facing users. This individual has practical, relevant experience in compiling software information with subject-matter experts into usable documents.

The primary scope of responsibility includes effectively working with the development and product management teams to create informative and useful help documents for end users, partners, and field support teams.


  • Supports Wdata product team to lead the effort of documenting and delivering technical information.

  • Identifies product and user content requirements, manages the associated backlog of requests, and prioritizes the order of delivery for greatest customer impact.

  • Examples of requirements include: API documentation, user training, onboarding guides, help content, FAQs, field materials for implementation team, etc.

  • Communicates technical information to product stakeholders: Works with internal and external stakeholders throughout the systems development life cycle to write and edit technical documents.

  • Collaborates with team members and stakeholders to explore new approaches that will provide the best support for users.

  • Produces clear and accurate written technical material for products and features.

  • Creates content that increases user engagement and encourages them to try new products and features while maintaining consistency across text.

  • Experience with relational databases preferred


  • 2-3 years of related experience. Prior experience writing about software preferred.


  • B.A./B.S. in liberal arts, communications, technical writing, information technology or related degree preferred

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The Technical Writer will be a member of a Cryptologic Carry-On Program (CCOP) Technical Writing team, focusing primarily on researching, writing, editing, and proofreading technical data for use in documents or sections of documents such as manuals and procedures. The ideal candidate will have basic to advanced knowledge writing a variety of technical documents, to include utilizing technical writing programs such as oXygen XML editor. Additionally, high level communication skills, a customer focused mindset, and a team player mentality are required. Major responsibilities include: * Collaborate productively with all subject matter experts (SME) within an Agile environment to develop appropriate technical documentation * Ensures technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets editorial and Government specifications, and adheres to configuration management (CM) standards for quality, graphics coverage, format, and style using approved software tools * Document the planning and implementation of security controls, processes, and procedures * Draft and verify accuracy of standard documentation sets * Have developed communication skills and the ability to express thoughts and ideas clearly and concisely, employing technical writing techniques * Must be a team player, dedicated to program support, capable of multitasking and working several complex and diverse tasks with simultaneous or near simultaneous deadlines Scientific Research Corporation offers a competitive salary, an extensive benefits package and a work environment that encourages excellence.
