Job Description

The Kenya-Trusant Groupis hiring a Technical Writer tojoin our team supporting DHS CISA IntegratedOperations Division (IOD).CISA'smission is to lead the national effort to protect and enhance the resilience of the nations physical and cyber infrastructure. The Technical Writer must have expert writing skills that focus on making their documentation concise, focused, easy to understand, free of errors, and audience based.

  • Drive the creation of documentation methodology and framework, and maintain consistency and efficiency conducting research as required, to include benchmarking best practices at other agencies, and document recommendations.
  • Write, edit, and publish strategy, doctrine, policy directives, operational plans, SOPs (including metrics and measures), and checklists, including improvements to documentation and writing processes and standards, and produce reports, briefings, talking points or other products in support of IOD/subdivisions as required.
  • Apply knowledge of effective writing principles and practices executing day-to-day functional activities applying IOD/subdivision processes, procedures, work instructions, and checklists, to develop and refine the IOD Suite of Plans (both steady-state and contingency plans) in accordance with the CISA style guide, CISA Knowledge Management processes, and the CISA/SPP Policy and Governance Frameworks.

Qualifications

  • Must have current Secret clearance.
  • Bachelors degree required.
  • At least 7 years of mid-level experience writing with a civilian government agency or military service, including training and exercise planning process/workflows and development and publication of training and exercise documentation.
  • Understanding of the guiding principles of exercise and evaluation programs, as well as common approaches to exercise program management, design, development, conduct, evaluation, and improvement planning.
  • Ability to manage competing tasks.
  • Easily works within and across teams.
  • Familiar working with technical professionals and other SMEs.
