Job Summary:

The technical writer is responsible for preparing high-quality policies, procedures, forms, and other supporting documents to communicate complex information in an easy-to-understand format. You will join a team of talented individuals who will work collaboratively to document and communicate our processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Works with leadership to gather general project information and identify deliverables and timelines.

  • Works with identified business/process owners to analyze lending processes

  • Writes and edits policies and procedures documentation that detail lending processes

  • Coordinates and communicates with business/process owners to ensure documentation is reflective of accurate processes and controls.

  • Coordinates and communicates with compliance associates to ensure all documents are in compliance with federal, state, local, and agency rules and regulations.

  • Understands operational concepts and translates them into writing.

  • Initiates and manages documentation approval process; driving documentation through compliance, senior management, and subject matter experts for approval.

  • Maintains partnerships with business units to ensure the delivery of comprehensive, accurate, and effective documentation that meets project requirements.

  • Escalates roadblocks to Management for resolution.

  • Maintains detail audit trail and proper publication approvals for archive and audit purposes.

  • Maintains project tracking mechanism for management reporting.

  • Provides exceptional customer service.

Desired Skills, Experience, or Education:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the mortgage lending industry preferably related to procedures analysis, documentation and training development

  • Preferred experience using Empower as an LOS with variable POS systems.

  • Strong knowledge of mortgage lending (Wholesale, Retail, and Correspondent)

  • Strong writing and editing skills and experience.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Strong analytical skills, problem solver, and takes initiative on projects with limited supervision.

  • Ability to independently partner with a board range of associates/stakeholders/Management.

  • Proficient working on multiple concurrent projects, while meeting aggressive deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities: * Develop and maintain Service Level Objectives, Service Level Indicator, and Error Budgets * Strong Communication and presentation skills with management, lateral and staff. * Training the team on DevOps skill set. * Develop software to automate manual operational tasks * Run, maintain and improve the service against established Service Level Objectives by applying software engineering principles. * Responsible for the availability, performance, change management, monitoring, and capacity management of their services * Engage with the development team throughout the life-cycle to help build for reliability. * Troubleshoot priority incidents, conduct blameless post-mortems and ensure permanent closure of the incidents. * Analyze patterns of production incidents, develop permanent remediation plans, and implement automation to prevent future incidents from occurring through software engineering. * Facilitate maximum speed of delivery by objectively binding to error budgets of the service * Manage the efforts to split between manual operational work and engineering work. * Part of the 24x7x365 support coverage. This position is anticipated to require the use of one or more High Security Access (HSA) systems. Users of these systems are subject to enhanced screening which includes both criminal and credit background checks, and/or other enhanced screening at the time of accepting the position and on an annual basis thereafter. The enhanced screening will need to be successfully completed prior to commencing employment or assignment.
