You must have experience in editing XML and managing APIs, familiarity with Dita XML would be very nice to have but not required. They will take the content and translate into XML language, and continue to maintain and modify in machine readable language.
The position will be responsible for maintaining, updating and managing the taxonomy of the content in the Component Content Management System (CCMS). Additionally, the position will maintain, update and manage the API Portal where the content is consumed as structure XML by licensed customers. The position will be responsible for managing content over these two domains; identifying and resolving technical issues, responding to customer support issues, ensuring end to end fidelity of content. Working with the internal and external Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure accurate translation of human readable to machine readable content is core aspect of this position. This position will also collaborate with partners and serve as a liaison with the technical staff in those organizations to support the cancer surveillance experts as they update and implement the Cancer Staging System through their various standards, platforms and technologies.
2-4 years of experience in software or web development
Experience editing XML, preferably DITA XML, XL editing software, working with open standards.
Experience working with Component Content Management Systems (CCMS)
Experience with RESTful APIs and API Management Software
Experience working with Electronic Healthcare Records (EHR) like Epic, Cerner, Allscripts and other widely adapted EHR software
Experience with clinical databases and clinical information systems technology
High level of analytical, quantitative and problem- solving skills in order to prepare project proposals, reports, and analyses.
Superb Organizational ability and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) necessary to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
Ability to plan and prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
Break down of opening:
70%- Maintain, update and manage Caner Staging System and taxonomy in the CCMS and API to ensure it can be incorporated into software of partners and customers. Responsible for project management of high-profile technical projects including CCMS and API improvements. Works with partner organizations, the surveillance community, and API users for production requirements to ensure API will diverse users needs. Develop and maintain an implementation Guide for the API. Write and disseminate release notes to customers. Provide all customer support to API licensees. Manage the API Portal including permissions, adding new API calls, maintaining version control, develop and communicate plan for release scheduled, respond to outages or downtime, and monitor activity for any security threats.
10%- Keep abreast of trends and developments in Interoperability standards in health care technology by participating in workgroups, active involvement in in national and international standards setting organizations, ongoing research, coordinating and communicating across the College to advise the Manager and contribute the strategy for interoperability.
10%- Collaborate with member organizations on an ongoing basis through web conferences to keep technical staff there informed of release schedules for the API, any plans for significant content updates, changes to API structure, and work to develop a joint workflow for implementing changes to the Cancer Staging System across the oncology landscape.
10%- Manage the relationships with technology vendors. Create project charters for new initiatives, work with vendors and users to implement and troubleshoot technical issues, responsible for technical training and managing technical support tools. Manage software and hosting licenses, ensure collaboration and coordination across vendors.
