The Technical Writer is part of the Regulatory Affairs Department and primarily responsible for creating and maintaining the Standard Operating Procedure templates that appear in the Simplifya app. The content is derived from state regulations and translated for our marijuana business clients based on license type. Strong reading comprehension. You must be able to review government regulations and quickly understand their intent and implications.
Strong writing skills. You must be able to summarize government regulations in a clear and concise manner. You must be able to convert those regulations, which can be very complex, into simple and straightforward content for our software.
High attention to detail. You will be expected to accurately communicate the regulatory expectations in a clear and concise manner.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Work efficiently and cooperatively in an environment of multiple projects and priorities.

Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Research and analyze complex regulatory requirements based on state marijuana regulations.
Draft standard operating procedures that help marijuana businesses operate in compliance with state regulations.
Provide targeted input to the development team on ways to enhance our software.
Serve as a resource for Business Development and Client Engagement as needed, which may include web conferencing and occasional travel.
Help to develop Simplifya's reputation as regulatory experts via industry events, blog posts and media resources, and in other opportunities as they are identified.
Minimum of one year of experience in a licensed medical or recreational marijuana business: cultivations, product manufacturers, dispensaries, with a strong preference for persons with experience in operations and responsibilities related to drafting standard operating procedures.
Similar experience in an ancillary service business (ie, a business such as Simplifya that provides a service to marijuana businesses) may be substituted for experience in a licensed facility.
