Q2 is seeking a Technical Writer who will create impact while working closely with technical and customer-facing team members to build excellent documentation. The ideal candidate has a background in technical writing in financial services and/or a software development environment. The candidate is confident, committed and well-respected by peers, with demonstrated writing samples that showcase the ability to be successful in this opportunity. The successful candidate will be highly professional, ethical and rigorously honest. This individual will ensure the Company's culture is maintained at all levels and that the achievement of goals will enhance the Company's core values, purpose, and mission.


  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including other technical writers, program management, product management, engineering, marketing, implementations/support

  • Author and peer review technical documentation for products/programs and technical API documentation

  • Convey technical concepts in concise customer and user documentation

  • Deliver the right level of content so the intended audience can implement and utilize our products

  • Manage tasks and content to ensure internal and external customer needs are met in a timely manner

  • Work with subject matter experts to create and update content to ensure it is culturally appropriate, well-written, accurate, and approved by applicable parties

  • Adhere to internal processes and use specified content tools to create and deliver content

  • Spot and fix bugs to support continuous content improvement

  • Seek feedback, trends, and insights from teammates, customers, and stakeholders to improve processes and content

  • Responsible for ensuring that all security, availability, confidentiality and privacy policies and controls are adhered to


  • Requires 3-5 years of technical writing experience; Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Banking or financial services experience preferred

  • Experience with authoring tools and environments. MadCap Flare experience preferred

  • Markup language skills (CSS, XML, HTML) preferred

  • Ability to work within tight and often-changing deadlines

  • Ability to work with and communicate effectively with diverse individuals and groups

  • Ability to work independently and organize own tasks with minimal supervision

  • Relationship-building skills to collaborate with a team, internal subject-matter experts and internal/external customers

  • Demonstrate a willingness to help others when needed and actively shares knowledge

  • Manages issues effectively, dealing with challenges constructively and positively

  • Maintains productivity and high-performance levels under pressure

  • Writing samples required

Successful candidates will serve as part of the IETM development team. This position is located in Austin, Texas.
