The Technical Writer will work with developers, engineers, product managers, marketing, and regulatory and compliance.
The work environment is a fast-paced manufacturing setting. This position is a low to mid level position with 3 to 5 years experience. The salary range starts at $50,000.
Below is not a comprehensive list, and duties will change based on the needs of the company.
Work with teams to understand GlobalMed products, GlobalMed clients, and the documentation requirements.
Works with teams to develop documentation roadmap in conjunction with company product releases.
Works with Regulatory and Compliance to develop and maintain the companys content strategy.
Produce high-quality documentation using plain language.
Create new documentation, and convert existing documentation from InDesign to FrameMaker, which includes but is not limited to manuals, user guides, administrator manuals, work instructions and case studies.
Revise documentation as needed, based on prioritization of product releases and ad hoc customer requirements.
Develop FrameMaker templates for different document types as needed.
Conduct technical reviews and stakeholder reviews of technical documentation using Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Create and maintain information architecture.
Provide technical review of LMS video scripts.
Provide input on marketing material as needed.
Mentor team members in technical writing concepts and functions as needed.
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree preferred, but can be exchanged for work experience
Ability to deliver high quality documentation
Ability and experience in a fast paced equipment manufacturing environment a plus
Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
Excellent written skills in English using plain language
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of FrameMaker
Ability to learn DITA
Experience in Agile/Scrum concepts
Experience with JIRA preferred
Experience with NetSuite preferred
