We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Acquisition Technical Writer to join our team. As an Acquisition Technical Writer, you will be responsible for creating clear, concise, and accurate documentation related to the acquisition process. Your primary focus will be on producing high-quality written materials that effectively communicate complex technical concepts to various stakeholders. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, subject matter experts, and legal personnel, to gather information and ensure that all documentation meets the required standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical writing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create comprehensive and accurate acquisition documentation, including request for proposal (RFP) responses, technical proposals, statements of work (SOWs), and other related materials.

  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise language that is easily understandable by various stakeholders.

  • Ensure that all documentation adheres to established style guidelines and industry best practices.

  • Review and edit existing documentation to improve clarity, coherence, and consistency.

  • Conduct research and gather data to support the development of accurate and up-to-date content.

  • Coordinate with project managers and subject matter experts to ensure that all documentation is delivered within established timelines.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments to enhance the quality and relevance of acquisition documentation.

  • Maintain a strong attention to detail and consistently deliver high-quality work.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • 6 years' experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, English, or a related field.

  • Proven experience working as a technical writer, preferably in the acquisition or procurement domain.

  • Excellent writing and editing skills with a strong command of grammar, punctuation, and style.

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise language.

  • Strong research skills to gather information from various sources and subject matter experts.

  • Familiarity with industry-standard style guides and documentation tools.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.

  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Familiarity with government acquisition processes and regulations (preferred but not required).

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described herein are representative of those which may need to be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Employees must possess the ability to work in an office environment.

If required, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time to visit other company sites. Must have hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. This position may require an employee to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance, reach, push, and pull. The employee may also be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
