Technical Writer

Position Description/Job Responsibilities:

  • The Technical Writer position is located in Clearfield, UT

  • The successful candidate will provide technical writing and editing for the following documents:

  • Engineering Reports

  • Briefing Charts

  • Meeting Minutes

  • Travel Reports

  • Activity Reports

  • Statements of Work

  • Project Plans

  • Final Reports

  • Monthly Status Reports

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field with strong writing component

  • Minimum eight (8) years of related experience; in lieu of formal education, sixteen (16) years of equivalent related experience

  • Experience writing and editing technical documents

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite

  • Experience with Adobe

  • Ability to identify grammar, punctuation, and composition errors

  • Ability to work with highly technical documents in unfamiliar subjects

  • Ability to take notes

  • Ability to organize and format information

  • Ability to collaborate with and improve the writing of highly educated professionals so the end product is understood by a less technical reader

  • Aptitude to understand unfamiliar processes and promote process efficiency improvement and readily promote and adopt new ways of thinking

  • Familiarity with DoD preferred

  • Experience with USAF reporting preferred

  • Proficiency in graphic design a plus

  • Proficiency in template design a plus

  • Proficiency in database design a plus

  • Existing Secret clearance or Eligible for a Secret clearance

VIEW JOBS 10/1/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-12-30T00:00 SAIC is seeking a Technical Writer to support the USAF 414thSupply Chain Management Squadron in sustainment of the Minuteman III Weapon System. The technical writer will be responsible for developing government customer facing content like white papers, meeting minutes, test plans, test reports, and proposals. The candidate will also assist in the development of strategies to obtain, organize, and summarize information through clear, concise and effective communication. Responsibilities: * Analyzing RFP documents in order to contribute to strategy as well as content * Work in partnership with the SAIC Leadership team to ensure corporate and market branding and style guidelines are maintained * Working with the program manager and engineers to produce quality, on-time request for proposal responses * Develop and maintain templates, standard operating procedures (SOPs), tools, and resources, leveraging best practices for team communications and coordination across multiple ongoing opportunities * Draft technical explanations of solutions from diagrams and/or in summary of meetings, often with short turnaround times * Create technical documentation as required in support of proposal or project needs, including system design documents and draft diagrams * Leverage knowledge and experience to improve upon each opportunity within the capture and proposal lifecycle * Bachelor's degree (preferred in Journalism, English, Communications) * US Citizen and ability to obtain a Secret security clearance * Ability to think critically and draw from several resources to create simple, unified and persuasive documents * Strong organization skills, attention for detail, communication skills, and interpersonal skills with exceptional writing abilities * Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines * Willingness and ability to adapt and learn in a fast-moving environment * Expert in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel * Ability to work independently and conduct research with minimal guidance and supervision, managing time and priorities in alignment with account strategy Preferred * Active Secret Clearance * Experience with USAF capture and/or proposal development * Experience revising engineering documentation Engility Corporation Clearfield UT
