Tableau Software is looking for a skilled Technical Writer to create best-in-class technical content for the Tableau product suite. Our content team works in a fast-paced, agile environment to develop technical content that helps our customers plan, deploy and manage Tableau Server and Tableau Online. As a technical writer on our team, you will work collaboratively with partners in marketing, product development, and support to deliver technical content to a global audience.

Who you are

  • Experienced. We're looking for people who have experience building and shipping commercial software.

    You are a skilled communicator with experience in technical writing or a related discipline. You've worked with your share of tools and processes and always put the customer first. Localization? Oh, yeah, you know all about that.

  • IT aware. Do terms like server configuration, high availability, and performance tuning sound familiar? We help server administrators install, configure, tune, and troubleshoot their servers, which may be running online, in the cloud, or on-premises.

  • Developer aware. Got script?

    Java, C#, C++, Python, Rubyif you can work with any of these (or if you want to learn), that's a big plus. We explain to developers how they can use APIs to work with Tableau.

  • Agile. Standups, scrums, and sprints have been part of your everyday work.

  • People-friendly. You work easily with other writers, developers, marketing folks, and, of course, with customers.

  • Hands on. Your typical approach to figuring out how something works is to install it and dive in.

  • Scenario focused. You know that features do not exist outside of a broader user experience. You create content that delivers end-to-end solutions for your audience.

  • Creative. You're constantly thinking about the shortest distance between the problem and the solution, and you're able to convey that in a beautiful way.

  • Independent. No one needs to tell you what to doyou typically already know, and you're probably already working on it.

JOB SUMMARY WarnerMedia is looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to work closely with development teams in the Content Discovery space. Collectively these teams are responsible for the consumer facing experience of HBO Max. Content presentation, navigation, tooling for content scheduling, search, recommendations, personalization and amazing video viewing experiences are just a few of the exciting and important projects underway. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES * Primary liaison between development teams, quality assurance, business managers, and WarnerMedia's leadership team. * Manage cross-functional communication within the internal development team, and dependent groups. * Define problem statements with data driven proposals, recommendations, and solutions; then drive alignment across all stakeholders. * Collaborate with cross-functional team(s) to establish goals and milestones that align with development team dependencies. * Add value in technical discussions about solution design and implementation. * Discover and articulate technical requirements and dependencies on external development teams as deliverables change. These could include changes to APIs, interfaces, or the behavior of services or client devices. * Collaborate with development teams to tease out implementation details and identify roadblocks before they occur. * Communicate how solution goals fit into, and are influenced by, larger divisional goals, and how the team's work impacts the success or failure of the division. * Identify and document the requirements for an area or product. * Cloud based application PM experience focused on clients or services. * Excellent written and verbal communication with all levels of technical and non-technical staff. * Establish goals and set clear expectations, prioritize activities, and follow through to completion. * Excellent interpersonal skills, including negotiation and problem resolution in a cross-functional team. * Drive the definition of project scope, develop detailed project plans, and facilitate the collection of engineering, operational, and business requirements. * Strong understanding of development methodologies including waterfall and agile (including Lean or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)). * Experience collaborating with engineering to write features for implementation. * Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. * Ability to function effectively and consistently when faced with frequently changing and sometimes ambiguous goals REQUIREMENTS * 5-7+ years of experience on multiple technical projects. * Experience working with consumer facing products. * Experience with teams developing service libraries, CICD service pipelines, and platform related services a plus. * Prior experience working within bug tracking systems (ex: YouTrack, JIRA) * Experience documenting technical systems and training users in complex operational procedures. * Ability to learn new development and productivity tools in order to continuously improve effectiveness. * Bachelor's Degree or an Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related experience preferred; service platform management/development a plus. * Entertainment or Media industry experience is a plus.
