Position Overview

We are seeking a technical writer to support the Office of the CIO at the Census Bureau. The Census Bureau is the government leader in data collection and statistical analysis. In addition to the Decennial (10 year) census, the Census Bureau conducts other surveys and censuses at monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual, 2, 3, and 5 year increments. The Census Bureau also develops key data indicators, such as the unemployment rate, GDP, and GNP.


E3 is seeking a Technical Writer for an opportunity at the US Census Bureau

  • Prepare written documentation, briefing material, illustration/graphics and training materials

  • Provide support with pulling data to create reports in a variety of standard formats

  • Write/edit project management policies and procedures

  • Develop graphics for a variety of tasks associated with written documentation, briefing materials, illustration/graphics and training materials

  • Develop project communications for a senior management audience

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS is required

  • 5+ years relevant experience with project management technical writing

  • Experience in supporting a federal client

  • Proficient in Microsoft office products, including Excel and Powerpoint

  • Experience with graphics and web content

  • Candidates should be team players and have a knowledge of project management.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience working in a PMO is preferred
