Technical Writer - Core Technology Delivery
Overview of Position
We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, self-learner to join our team as a Technical Writer III and to help expand technical writing and documentation as a core competency within Change Healthcare's Core Technology Organization. The successful applicant independently designs and develops documentation for a product or set of products; works directly with our business units and technical teams to document technical solutions; creates technical documents and manuals; and explains complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and written.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
Researches, plans, organizes, designs, writes, and edits audience-appropriate documentation (e.g., installation guides, user and technical manuals, and online help)
Researches and writes technical design specifications such as architectural standards, component roadmaps, system diagrams, and operational procedures
Participates in requirements development, technical design, user interface and/or infrastructure or product testing
Acquires and organizes source material, including applicable specifications and technical write-ups
Produces electronic documentation and/or hard copy manuals
May convert document artifacts from older technology to newer formats and solve related issues
Creates and maintains Policies & Procedures
What are the requirements needed for this position?
A minimum of 7-10 years in a technical writing role, producing both internal and public-facing content on highly technical subject matter
BS/BA Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, English, Journalism, or related field
Experience designing, planning, and delivering content solutions that meet the needs of technical business customers
Experience creating and developing formal Policies & Procedures
Experience working directly with engineers on developing products and services for technical audiences (i.e. developers, DevOps, IT professionals, Business Units)
Concept understanding of as-a-service delivery and component-based modeling
High-level understanding of cloud computing and IT infrastructure
Specific knowledge in documenting and publishing Cloud product and services
Previous experience working in an Agile environment with a familiarity of tools such as Jira, Rally, and Trello
Advanced experience in data gathering and modeling of this data to build publications that drive change
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
A proactive and open-minded attitude to resolving problems and delivering results
Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to proactively drive and facilitate multiple incoming requests from various business unit channels
Maintain a high level of attention to detail, the ability to work independently, adjust priorities, and work in a continuously changing environment
Strong analytic skills and a demonstrated ability to build and manage various process models, business forecasting, analysis & filtering, and problem solving
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
Must have a strong business acumen, as well as technical acumen
Technical knowledge in building Confluence Pages, Jira, Nintex Forms, Analytic/BI Tools (Power BI, Jaspersoft, etc.), Visio and MS Excel Spreadsheets(i.e. Macros, Filtering, Pivot Tables, etc)
Affinity with establishing and improving processes
Can work independently and adapt quickly to change
