Responsibilities

This role is responsible for writing and editing various instructional documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, Job Aids, How-To Guides, and User Manuals.

  • Work with department Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to understand operational processes and instructional documentation needs.

  • Manage document creation and revision process, facilitating collaboration and review activities, and incorporating feed-back to create effective SOPs and related documents that meet department (customer) requirements.

  • Optimize content and organization of written procedures to promote operational efficiency and adherence to standards and regulations.

  • Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience.

  • Ensure that instructional documentation is accurate, complete, clear, concise, grammatically correct, and meets organizational standards for format and style.

  • Ensure consistency in process documentation.

  • Identify opportunities to improve documentation and streamline the creation and revision processes.

  • Process documents in the electronic Document Management System or eQMS to ensure documents are reviewed, approved, routed, and released on time and error free.

  • Collaborate closely with team members to bring instructional documents to various audiences.

  • Develops training materials and tools including presentations, and other visual aids in coordination with Instructional Designers.

  • Provide support for Document Lifecycle Management and Control activities as needed.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Writing (Business, Professional, Technical, Scientific, Medical), Communications, or related field

Related Experience:

  • Two years' experience in technical writing or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with scientific, healthcare, or medical terminology is a plus.

For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is $75,000.00 p/yr. to $83,000.00 p/yr. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant's skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.
