ActioNet has an upcoming opportunity for a Technical Writer requiring a Final Secret clearance located in Vienna, VA/Ft Meade, MD. ActioNet is an IT service provider and solutions integrator headquartered in Vienna, VA that works with the Federal Government and Department of Defense.

As part of ActioNet's Defense Programs Business Unit, the Candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary matrixed team that is actively defining, eliciting, and documenting requirements, system design, test cases, and business processes while providing technical expertise and support for Information Technology Systems supporting a very large Federal program.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform Quality Assurance (QA) reviews of project documentation and artifacts

  • Ensure documents are accurate, complete, meet editorial and government specifications, and adhere to standards for quality, format, and style

  • Provide feedback to others on revisions needed in a tactful and diplomatic manner

  • Review project artifacts and documents for writing structure, clarity, and template observance

  • As applicable, create graphics, diagrams and charts that increase the readers' understanding and work to clarify complex concepts

  • Analyze target audience and determine appropriate level of detail

  • Track document progress and revisions and provide status reports to the Project Manager

  • Ensure that style guidelines are followed across a project

  • Identify opportunities for improved performance, increased effectiveness and efficiency

  • Assist with the creation and adherence to the team's best practices, templates, and style guidelines for all projects

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of technical writing experience in a position requiring the development of structured written materials and visual aids within or supporting an IT program or project

  • Associate's Degree or higher in a related discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Math, Engineering, Finance) or equivalent.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing

  • Ability to write, edit, and prepare graphic presentations of technical information

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio

  • Experience in organizing information in a way that is appropriate for technical explanations without losing sight of the needs and aptitude of the audience

  • Have expert level skills with Microsoft Word

  • Excellent research, writing and communication skills

  • An expert in English language and grammar

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and possess a Final Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with IT Federal contracting

  • Experience providing professional IT consultative services

  • Ability to prioritize and work on multiple assignments simultaneously

  • Growth oriented

  • Self-disciplined and have a positive attitude

  • Excellent time management and presentation skills

Content Strategist-UX Writer Who We're Looking For: A talented Content Strategist/UX Writer to join our team in creating next-generation digital experiences for Capitalone.com. You'll work closely with Design, Product and Engineering teams to execute innovative experiences that aim toward the futuristic vision of Capital One's digital servicing experience. Creating solutions that scale, you'll also have a hand in setting the content guidelines to align with the overarching Capital One brand.
