Technical Writer

Overview:

Our client has an opportunity for a Cleared Technical Writer, to provide technical writing and engineering expertise to develop and document engineering and software designs, user operations, and maintenance procedures relevant to the development of the next-generation collection system.

Description:

Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Under minimal supervision, researches, develops, writes, revises, and edits content for printed and for all supporting materials.

• Interview programmers, engineers, developers, and other technical personnel to acquire knowledge of product technology and development methods.

• Gathers and researches technical information for use in documentation activities.

• Prepares written documents following standard guidelines for technical publications.

• Reviews, edits, and proofreads work, and materials developed by lower level technical writers.

Qualifications:

• Active Secret Clearance.

• Bachelor's degree.

• 3+ years of technical writing experience.

• Intermediate knowledge in word processing software including MS Word and Adobe.

• Ability to write concise, logical, and grammatically correct documentation, suitable reports, read and interpret documents such as schematics, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safety rules.

• Ability to adapt to frequent changes in workload and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
