JOB DESCRIPTION:

Technical Writer/Business Analyst:

The Education and Awareness Analyst is responsible for supporting the Information Technology education and awareness programs. The overall goal of the education and awareness program is ensuring that all employees, contractors and third-party vendors understand Abbott IT policies, processes and apply information security practices with respect to data and information technology systems. In collaboration with IT teams, this position will support a broad set of activities, including developing education and awareness curriculum content, creating and managing website content, facilitating global awareness campaigns, scheduling meetings, creating timelines and infographics, and helping to plan outreach, awareness, and educational events. The education and awareness staff will also be responsible for evaluating effectiveness of techniques and resources as appropriate.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist Education and Awareness Leadership in the development of communications, strategy, goals, and objectives for information technology training, education, and awareness program.

  • Use cybersecurity benchmarking and actual incidents to help define the top human risks to the organization and the changes needed to mitigate those risks.

  • Assist in creating training, education, and awareness programs to organizational culture and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure that the education and awareness program communicates policies and requirements in a way that can be understood by the affected stakeholders.

Draft FAQs for strategic initiatives and track communication approvals through the process.

  • Assists in new or update existing training, education, and awareness activities and materials upon publication/update of policies and ensure significant changes are communicated and understood.

  • Develop, collect and publish relevant metrics that can effectively measure audience engagement, behaviors, and impact.

  • Collaborate with technical experts as needed to augment or further develop support training, education, and awareness activities as appropriate.

The education and awareness staff is responsible for the planning and execution of education and awareness campaign throughout Abbott.

Communication

  • Possess ability to communicate with both leadership and operational staff

  • Use strong written and verbal communication skills to accomplish tasks

Minimum Education:

B.S. or B.A. in technical writing, English, journalism, communications, computer science or related area.

Minimum Experience:
4+ years in communication, technical writing or related field with strong skills in writing, editing, project management and employee or executive communication. Public relations agency, health or science experience is recommended, but not required.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Position: IT Technical Specialist - Product Life-cycle Systems * Experience with a PLM system required * Primary Job Function Provides in-depth technical expertise & direction in the development and support of client area application systems/programming requirements and processes (e.g. new, enhancements or maintenance), in the preparation of application system specifications, and in the development, testing, and implementation of efficient, cost effective application solutions. Core Job Responsibilities Serve as technical expert or lead projects/programs and technical staff to develop, test and implement significant new products, or operational improvements or devise new approaches to problems at the division/business unit. Ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills and be results driven. Conduct investigation activity/research and give technical advice to the adoption or integration of new technologies and their business impact. Lead in the development of standards and procedures and publish/communicate findings via IOI's, presentations, white papers, etc. Review, validate & enhance design, conduct performance monitoring and capacity planning; install, test and upgrade releases and associated products. Strong understanding of FDA compliance, SDLC and validation processes. Evaluate & recommend new software, utilities, and tools. Set the strategy for implementing new technologies. Experience with specialized PLM systems (i.e.Teamcenter, Agile, Windchill, DevEX). Responsible to effectively understand and recommend options to change the way the application functions (configuration/Customization responsibilities). Strong understanding of PLM principles and business processes related to the Product Lifecycle. Supervisory/Mgmt. Responsibilities Directs a development team for a major project, often utilizing a mix of various levels of analysts, developers & testers, responsible for subsystems of the overall project, directing the work of less experienced analysts and programmers. Draws on the expertise of technical resources within Abbott and outside vendors. Position Accountability/Scope Accountable for total project scope, budget, completion within budget constraints and schedule completion dates. Accountable for successful and timely completion of all tasks/projects under direct and matrix control. Post completion audit of project after implementation to verify expected benefits vs. costs, both development and operating. Project success is critical to the continued business success of the corporation.
