Technical Trainer - BioMed

Omnicell is excited to be seeking to fill the Technical Trainer Biomed position. This position will provide expert hardware repair/break fix training to external customers, third party companies and/or employees on features, operations and repair of Omnicell products. They will deliver high-quality and effective training that adheres to training industry and Omnicell training standards to meet the needs of the business. Additionally, the Technical Trainer BioMed will support the Cranberry Woods Training facility by servicing and maintaining training labs/equipment/products.


  • Provide special or customized training when required.

  • Deliver classroom-based and virtual trainings from the office in Cranberry Township, PA.

  • Partner with the Instructional Design team to design, develop, and deliver training that meets customer and employee needs.

  • Participate in quality assurance audits to ensure that documentation and training tools are accurate and understandable from a user standpoint.

  • Manage classroom and/or virtual training project plans to ensure readiness of classes for new product and release training for biomedical customers and field employees.

  • Gather information from multiple resources, including sprint reviews, engineering and marketing to understand the enhancements for each new product release. Update training material as needed and transfer content collected from external validation and operational readiness teams to the Instructional Design Team.

  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction to ensure effectiveness of training. Solicit training satisfaction feedback and implement program changes, as needed. Provide customer feedback and requests for product enhancement received during training to product management.

  • Be primarily self-directed in consulting with internal and external customers on standard and complex problems and issues.

  • Define and analyze customer or internal Omnicell challenges and recommend solutions to management.

  • Demonstrate active departmental engagement and leadership in collaborating with management and other team members to develop and implement final solutions.

  • Be responsible for installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining the classroom and virtual training environments.

  • Identify and build relations with appropriate subject matter experts to acquire product knowledge and/or troubleshoot issues.

  • Ability to travel periodically to on-site locations to provide direct customer-facing training sessions.

  • Procure training equipment parts through PO requests/order entry.

  • Support the training group's virtual and physical classrooms to include virtual server, images and our classroom break fix repair in Cranberry Twp., PA

Required Knowledge and

  • Knowledge of software/hardware/IT and technical training.

  • Ability to present technical concepts to a non-technical audience and demonstrated presentation skills.

  • Detail-oriented, independent and able to adjust to changing priorities.

  • Ability to read and understand technical instructions (e.g. repair manuals) and produce content for instructor led/virtual trainings.

  • Knowledge of basic networking/VM environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates degree with one (1) year training experience in one or more of the following areas: Instructor-led or Virtual, hardware break-fix support and/or repair or hardware and software product implementations. OR
  • High School Diploma/GED with three (3) years' experience in one or more of the following areas: Instructor-led or Virtual training, hardware break-fix support and/or repair or hardware and software product implementations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Technical training experience with hardware and software.

  • Delivering training outside of product/technical content.

  • Hardware training on the following domains: new products, troubleshooting techniques, break-fix repair, systems, hardware and software, refresher, and consultations as needed.

  • Experience providing hardware biomedical break fix training to corporate employees and/or third party companies (including customers).

Work Conditions:

  • Position requires 15% or more overnight travel

  • Position based in Cranberry Township, PA

  • May require long periods of sitting or standing or staring at a computer screen

This dedicated team provides customer response, customer escalation, and help desk follow-up to current issues. The TAM works directly with the customer, Technical Support Management, Field Service Management, Account Executives, Automation Optimization Consultants, and other teams to help our internal/external customers become quality sites of excellence. Each TAM is assigned to a sales territory and plays a critical role in enabling the sales team to effectively manage customer satisfaction. Responsibilities: * Manage a defined regional set of customers. * TAM has responsibility for the management of the customer experience. * Schedule regular regional calls with the internal team--Sales team to participate in planning and to understand the account plan as defined by the sales leader. * Properly triage customer issues * Temporarily escalate engagement with and manage hot customer sites that experience complex, multi-faceted issues. * Engage the appropriate resources to ensure issue resolution. This includes making sure responsible parties are engaged on calls/on-site meetings and when applicable. * Provide planning to address customer performance and/or satisfaction issues. (i.e. Customer Support Issue escalation, Service Issues, software updates (hotfix)- application/tracking) * Prepare issue analysis, status updates, and special reporting to management on a regular basis. * Establish timely and clear, task and project expectations. * Maintain frequent communication with all levels of client interaction (Director of Pharmacy, IT, Pharmacy, Nursing, etc) to ensure proactive, solution-oriented problem identification and resolution * Serve as a key consultant for Product Development and Customer Response teams. * Work together with the Customer Response team on getting the appropriate Aesynt updates and upgrades in place. * Work with the account team on engaging the appropriate internal resources to help work with the site on product improvement and training. * Work collaboratively with Upgrade Project Managers and Customer Response Team to ensure a successful implementation and smooth transition of implementation and upgrade projects. * Review help desk logs post-upgrade to monitor and advocate for the customers. * Provide product and workflow expertise to Aesynt Customers * Coordinate activities on the customer's behalf across the business to ensure requests are handled appropriately and in a timely manner. * Work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple variables and factors. * Recommend/take action to direct the analysis of and solution to customer problems. * Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results need for customer-focused interactions. * Often act independently in making decisions that will positively impact customer relations and future product sales opportunities. Required Knowledge and Skills: * Demonstrated Project Management skills to prioritize the needs of multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. * User knowledge of information systems, especially automated order entry, medication administration, or pharmacy information systems. * Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare industry * Several years' experience supporting a hospital information technology or clinical environment * Solid knowledge of computer hardware, PC Windows and Microsoft Office, Professional. * Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. * Applicable education/training in regards to technical support. * Thorough knowledge of company products, company functions, and/or service policies and procedures. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Collaborative, customer-focused and able to create visible value. * Self-directed with excellent time management and organization skills. Basic Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Science discipline (In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an Associate's degree in an Engineering or Science discipline and a minimum of 3 years of experience working on medical equipment OR Completion of Department of Defense Biomedical Equipment training program and a minimum of 1 year experience working on medical equipment.) * 2+ years of experience in a hospital pharmacy or clinical work setting and/or information technology, product management, account management, sales, project management, and customer service. Preferred Qualifications * 2+ years of experience with Pharmacy specific drug configurations and complex robotics used in the pharmaceutical compounding and testing environment * 2+ years of experience with FDA regulated products * Experience working in the healthcare arena. * Extensive experience handling Customer Service/Management and problem resolution. * Working business experience with corporate customers. * Working knowledge of IV Solutions technical and quality processes Work Conditions * Up to 50% domestic travel, have own transportation and occasional availability during off hours may be required. * Must be able to push heavy equipment and have good dexterity for doing routine configuration tasks. * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; stand; walk/pace; use hands to handle equipment or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
