AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Senior Technical Training. This candidate will be responsible for the supervision of a six-man team that provides classroom and deck plate training to U.S.
Navy Sailors in LHD class ships, as part of the Engineering Readiness Assist Team. They will supervise the embedded trainers supporting TYCOM/ISIC in improving operation and maintaining main propulsion equipment, electrical generation, damage control, and auxiliary systems aboard ship. Training efforts will include classroom and ship visit training events for up to six weeks at a time and may include overseas travel.
Training will be conducted in the primary ship homeports and include underway time. Trainers will work with specifically identified ships in order to improve overall crew knowledge and subsequent ship readiness.

20 years and multiple Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW) qualifications in steam plants.
Must have prior LHD experience as Chief Engineer.
Highly skilled & experienced former Naval officers with tours as Chief Engineers, Main Propulsion Assistants and Engineering division officers are encouraged to apply, Afloat Training Group members, INSURV inspectors, and former Merchant Mariners with comparable experience.
Must be eligible for a security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
Significant experience in gas turbine ships, master training specialist qualification, and/or naval instructor podium time are all highly desired attributes.
