Experience with pipeline welding and welding inspection, and Shielded Metal Arc Welding(SMAW)
Experience with training and/or working with steel welders
Performs activities related to monitoring, conducting, and coordinating technical training activities.
Conduct gas field training and certification testing for company employees and contractors; ensure compliance with federal, state, and local governmental and company rules, regulations, and codes. Train and certify skills of third-party contractors as requested.
Coordinate and manage training facilities. Install, maintain, and/or construct training aids and equipment at training centers.
Develop, coordinate, update, and conduct internal/external studies and research projects including but not limited to:
Safety and material security
Consult with and/or provide guidance to employees, supervisors, managers, contractors, local governmental officials, and others regarding company/governmental standards, certifications, codes, and training.
Compile, verify, and/or prepare information and reports including but not limited to:
Job skills/training needs assessments
Training modules and statistics
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Austin, TX
Must be willing to travel within the state of Texas to test/certify steel welders
Must be certified in CPWI or CWI, or able to obtain certification after starting
working knowledge of steel welding procedures, preferably API
Minimum Associate's Degree business or related field experience
Experience in and thorough knowledge of pipeline/field and/or customer service/field activities.
Knowledge related to company training programs and processes.
Experience in use and function of equipment/tools used in construction, maintenance, and/or service of distribution and transmission pipelines
Experience with the application of basic mathematical and algebraic formulas.
Experience related to:
Microcomputer applications including spreadsheet and word processing software
Company policies/procedures and governmental regulations pertaining to field activities
Field safety and fire fighting
Experience reading and interpreting reports, governmental regulations, training materials, safety manuals, field procedural manuals, equipment specifications, policies, procedures, and correspondence.
Experience researching, analyzing, and preparing reports, training aides and manuals, needs assessments, field procedural manuals, policies, procedures, and correspondence.
Demonstrated ability to lead and/or delegate work activities.
Experience developing information and making presentations.
Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
Minimum Applicable driver's license
Mobility to travel in and around office surroundings and job and training sites out of doors.
Able to operate tools and equipment required.
Lift and move objects weighing 40 to 60 lbs. daily.
Communicate and/or exchange information verbally and conduct oral presentations.
Visual abilities sufficient to perform job duties.
