  • Provides customer specific training to dealership technicians in the following areas: Late model electronics, powertrain, OEM scan tools, engine, passive restraint system, auto/manual transmission, pre-delivery inspection, steering/suspension, basic electrical, engine performance, basic fuel injection, AC, antilock brakes and other areas as expertise grows.

  • Manage training schedule.

  • Deliver instructor-led technical training courses to the client's Dealer and Fleet Technicians, corporate personnel at the client's Technical Training Centers and mobile locations

  • Prepare for and maintain the highest-level of technical proficiency in all Skill Areas

  • Manage individual course registration and roster processing

  • Maintain the operational integrity of training vehicles for classroom activities

  • Utilize all available resources of the client's to maintain the highest level of technical proficiency

  • Assist with the organization and functionality of special tools, hand tools, classrooms for usage, course hardware and components, Diagnosis equipment and software updates

  • Monitor and maintain seat fill

  • Provide feedback to Training Development Team

  • Support Course Development Team if/when required

  • Coordinate new model launch training together with Business Center needs

  • Analyze data and communicate with BC and dealers on the specific training required for each dealer to complete "Dealer Standards".

  • Monitor progress towards Dealer Standards and coordinate course offerings with dealer needs.

  • Follow-up with dealers to ensure attendance at necessary courses

  • Council with new Service Managers to help them understand and utilize technical training for the benefit of the dealership

  • Conduct (as needed) Curriculum Planning Meeting with all Service Managers


  • Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 year's work experience as a Technician in a dealership and or experience delivering automotive technical training curriculum

  • Ability to interact effectively with various personality types

  • Strong communication skills -- written, verbal and platform

  • Ability to multi task and work in a rapid paced environment

  • Familiarity and ease with office automation programs (Power Point, Excel, Word, etc.)

  • Knowledge of service diagnostics procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Automotive Technology is preferred

  • ASE Certified - Automotive

  • Spanish language skills

Responsibilities include: * Technical leadership of cell engineering team * Tracking development of the next generation of lithium Ion cell technologies through conference attendance & participation with USABC and other organizations * Powertrain lead for managing lithium ion cell product development for the FCA portfolio of hybrid and electric vehicles from specifications to production * Lead lithium ion cell related sourcing activities for FCA vehicles * Point of Contact between FCA and Tier 1 lithium ion cell manufacturers for production programs * Plan and execute cell product development with tier 1 suppliers including DFMEA, DVP&R and supporting PPAP * Manage battery life modeling and prediction * Conduct production assessments of lithium ion battery manufacturing facilities * Member of cross function team supporting battery pack design and release engineering Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree from an ABET accredited university * Minimum of 10 years in of product development and/or process development for lithium Ion battery cells in the automotive environment * Understanding of energy storage systems and vehicle electrification * Understanding of process development for lithium ion batteries including: manufacturing for mixing and coating of electrode films * Experience with PPAP process * Good Analytical and Problem Solving Skills * Familiar with EV and HEV * Highly Motivated and Self Starter * DVP&R and DFMEA Knowledge * Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment Preferred Qualifications: * Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or Equivalent * Demonstrated experience working directly with battery supply base * Excellent quality, manufacturing and product assurance planning skills * Ability to resolve conflicting requirements across multiple organizations * Possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills * Working understanding of PFMEA, DFMEA, and DVP&R * Familiar with FEA, CAE, and CFD, and thermal analytical tools * Good communication, problem solving, computer and presentation skills Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Auburn Hills MI
